TITLE
Across Burnt Bridges, A Collection of Verse |
AUTHOR
Victor Burke |
DESCRIPTION
Across Burnt Bridges: One of a myriad of scribbles
from a stretch of years that my heart and I were apart.
The Magnificence of Life: About a moment of disparity. That sinking realization
that the light was once brighter and the taste was much sweeter. It comes from a time when
winning seemed like a transition between youth and middle age that some of us fail to
make. |
READERS'
REVIEWS
"The first thing is like chicken wings in a
white wine sauce. However, rancid polecats soiling my toupée, while I'm still under it,
works better, for me, than "The Magnificence of Life". No offense." -- Ed
Cruz, Chicago, Illinois, USA |

Ghost Sonnets |
AUTHOR
Fred McMillan |
DESCRIPTION
These are a couple of works from my "early ghost
period". I feel there is a lot lacking in the area of ghost literature, and have been
trying for some time to re-invigorate the field with my own body of works. |
READERS'
REVIEWS
"These are a real scream! They will
definitely reinvigorate ghost poetry." -- Hengist L. Knauss, Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
USA
"These haunting encantations of ghost works
are indicative and fit right in spooky tune with some some of the early great ghost
literature I have read: like, "Of Ghosts and?" by Jim Vargin, and "The
Appeal of My Ghost" by Lizzy Jones. I applaud Fred McMillan." -- Rob Shelley,
Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
"It is Ghost Sonnet 59 that I concern my
endeavors: I hear the silent steps in my sleep, and I think it to be the Ghost writer's
words that haunt my senses, and make them captive to pure imagination and unregistered
desire. Dizzy and packed with dark delight, this sonnet pulls the sheets tight, taking
care of all the corners." -- Rob Shelley, Knoxville, Tennessee, USA |

Angel Poems for Healing |
AUTHOR
Linda Marie Brainard |
DESCRIPTION
Most of my 12 poems in "Angel Poems For Healing"
were written first for my own healing after the loss of my 18 year old son to 'Werdnig
Hoffman Syndrome'. Now, I share them with the world hoping they may be of help to someone
else as well. The newest and personal favorite is "Not Tonight". The first thing
I ever wrote was "God's Borrowed Angel" concerning the fate of my oldest son,
Christopher.
My Helena: This poem is dedicated
to my paternal aunt Helena Anne 'Jones' Pendle in Evansville, Indiana who I love and miss
with all my heart. "You are a brave one, my Helena." |
READERS'
REVIEWS
"Lovely! I am sorry about the loss of you
son. You are stronger for it, and remember, all things are for a reason, though we know
not what the reason be. Keep up the good work. Your poetry comes from the heart! These
poems will help many through their loss. Maybe that is the reason for your loss. To help
others heal." -- Michelle, Canada |
