TITLE
Sarah, A Collection of Verse |
AUTHOR
Zachary Glass |
DESCRIPTION
Sarah: Something lost.
A Nap In The Morning Light: Too often a moment's bliss is forgotten.
Saturn's Stare: For Goya, I tried to be sincere.
...: I am dedicating this to the human bugs, beetles in particular, that I have
turned my back on. Some day I will find a way to resurrect the lot of you. (A parable --
It is charged like poetry, but it is in prose, as it lacks metre.) |
READERS'
REVIEWS
"[Sarah] Short, but vivid. Sick and
amusing and something worth more than a lot of the *ahem* 'poetry' on here..." --
Breonne, Evans, Georgia
"It was nice to read something original and
vivid without worn out nature images. These were the most interesting pieces of poetry
I've read at Storymania so far." -- Gail Martin, Detroit, Michigan, USA |

Wonder |
AUTHOR
Rahgad |
DESCRIPTION
Written as a dedication to the thousands of people who are every
year bombed, killed, their homes and lands destroyed. None of us can even begin to imagine
what they go through. All we know is that something must be done to help them. Each of us
has a different way of approaching and helping the problem, poems are my way. Hopefully
they will inspire each and every one of us to make a difference in someone's life. |
READERS'
REVIEWS
""Wonder" contemplates the cold,
naked eternity of the night sky while people are waiting for the bombs to fall. Readers
who contemplate "Wonder" will be blown away." -- Hengist L. Knauss,
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
"Stark, brutal, strong imagery. Humanity
juxtaposed with inhuman cruelty and destruction. Powerful in its brevity." -- Sal
Morano, Corona, California, USA |

TITLE
RaShawn |
AUTHOR
Heather
Noonan |
DESCRIPTION
This is a poem entitled "RaShawn", about my friend
RaShawn. She is and has been a close friend for years now, and I wrote the poem trying to
touch on the contradictions of her personality; such as her extroverted and theatrical
(and sometimes outrageous) behavior, versus her vulnerability and sensitivity, especially
when it comes to men and her father, who left her when she was a baby. |
READERS'
REVIEWS
"At first I thought it wasn't special - but
after reading it... it's so sweet, so wonderful. I really enjoyed the images and could
almost see the woman you were describing." -- Gloria, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
"Review I thought it was very rude of that
girl Gloria (the other reviewer of this poem) to say "at first I thought it wasn't
special". What kind of thing is that to say in a review? I thought every line of it
was amazing, and I really believed all the images, especially when you talked about her
eyes. In general, a beautiful poem." -- Student, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, USA
"The imagery is
beautiful, it put's a picture in my head, and lifts my heart to the level of
inspiration." -- Tami, Provo, Utah, USA |
