Ship's Journey, A Collection of Verse
Caroline Ann Nagy

Ship's Journey

I was once a ship always taking the journey in rough waters

I now know how to map out the journey to sail on calmer waters

I frequently came into port for major repairs

I now only need minor repairs

Friendly passing ships became hardships

I now pass other ships in a friendly but cautious way

My ship was always prepared for war

I now sail in peace

I once stayed anchored in fear

I now pull up anchor with courage

I never sailed too far from the comforts of shore

I now have confidence I can control my ship

I once thought the sea had all the power

I now see, I too, have power over the seas I sail

Just Feelings

Nobody makes you feel "FEELINGS"

They are not wrong

They are not right

They are not good

They are not bad

They are "just feelings"

Nobody put them in you

Nobody can take them away

They can control you

You can control them

They are "just feelings

You can stuff them

You can ignore them

You can become aware of them

You can acknowledge them

They are "just feelings"

I have feelings

You have feelings

Everyone has feelings

We each own our feelings

They are "just feelings"

You can talk around them

You can talk about them

You can write about them

You can write to them

They have a voice

They are "just feelings"

They are not big

They are not small

They are indicators

They are barometers

You have a right to your feelings

You have a right to express them

Cause they are "just feelings"

What do you do with your feelings?
