She squirms around, seeming NERVOUS and VULNERABLE. KATIE Let’s not talk about it. She sighs. MICHELLE So you guys, you know we’ll be graduating pretty soon. KATIE Yeah, I know. It’s cool. LOUIS It’s kinda scary, you know? We’ll be on our own, no more parents to tell us what to do. Katie, what do you wanna do after graduation? KATIE I don’t know. I guess I’d like to try and go to college. Maybe major in computer finance. LOUIS What if it doesn’t work out? Then what? KATIE Um, I don’t know. I guess I’ll find something else to do. LOUIS Like what? KATIE I don’t know. Why are asking me this? Louis looks over at Sarah. She is looking at him with a furrowed brow. SARAH Are you okay, Louis? LOUIS (nonchalantly) Yeah. Well, I don’t know about any of you, but I could use some fresh air. You wanna come, baby? SARAH Uh, sure. See you guys later. They get up and walk out, HOLDING HANDS. TOMMY Well that was odd. KATIE (laughing) Yeah. Chapter 8 INT. Of HOUSE-JESSICA’S ROOM Jessica and Mark are all over each other. CHAD Baby, you don’t know how long I have waited for this. JESSICA Oh yes I do. They kiss, HARD. JESSICA I want you Chad. I want you so bad. CHAD I want you too, Jess. They kiss again. Jessica reaches behind Chad and GRABS his ass. Jessica peels off Chad’s shirt. Then his PANTS. They kiss again. Chad grabs the bottom of Jessica’s shirt and PULLS it up and OFF of her. He starts TAKING OFF her pants. INT. OF HOUSE-MICHELLE’S ROOM-BATHROOM The two are lying in the BATHTUB, with just their heads poking out of the surface of the BUBBLY WATER. MARK Oh, Michelle, I love you so much. MICHELLE I love you too. I’m so glad that you decided to come up here this weekend. MARK So am I. It’s the best graduation party that I could ask for. MICHELLE I think that we should enjoy it to the fullest. She turns in the tub and KISSES Mark. Suddenly the lights go OUT. MARK What the hell? In a FLASH of light, in the middle of the room, a GHOSTLY figure appears out of nowhere. It is white and a manly figure. Then it GOES AWAY as quickly as it appeared. The lights come back on. MICHELLE Mark, did you see that? MARK Yeah. MICHELLE What was it? MARK I don’t know. Probably our imagination. MICHELLE Let’s go. MARK Where? MICHELLE Just out to the bed. I don’t want to stay in here. MARK Okay. Michelle gets out of the TUB and wraps a towel around her. Chapter 9 INT. OF HOUSE-JESSICA’S ROOM Chad is sitting at the foot of the bed, with Jessica sitting on him. They are kissing. Jessica is dressed in her bra and underwear. Chad has his boxers on. Jessica stops kissing him and steps back a step or two. FACE JESSICA She reaches behind her and UNDOES her bra. She pulls it down over her shoulders and lets it fall to the FLOOR. CUT TO POV-- OUTSIDE LOOKING IN We get the impression we are seeing this through someone else’s eyes. We are looking in through a WINDOW on an angle to the back of Jessica. We see her take her PANTIES OFF and let them fall to the floor. EXIT POV We are back where we started. In the room, behind Jessica. She steps back to Chad, and starts kissing him again. INT. OF HOUSE-MICHELLE’S ROOM They are sitting on the bed, in their robes. MARK Honey, what’s wrong? You seem so tense. MICHELLE It was what we saw in the tub. It scared me. MARK I told you, it was just our eyes playing tricks on us. MICHELLE Maybe, but something about it just didn’t feel right. MARK Like what? MICHELLE I don’t know. I just can’t seem to get this feeling of dread out of my mind. It’s like something evil has a hold of me. Like something is staring right at my soul and twisting it. MARK Michelle, you’re scaring me. MICHELLE I’m sorry. I just can’t get it out of my mind. MARK Come here. They embrace. FOCUS ON: MICHELLE’S HEAD Her eyes are darting around. Something has really scared her.... INT. OF HOUSE-JESSICA’S ROOM They are HAVING SEX. Chad is on top, and there are no covers over them. After we see what they’re doing, ENTER POV We are looking at them from the side, but we can only see down to about Jessica’s belly button. ENTER POV-OUTSIDE We are back outside. We are looking in on them having sex. Again, we get the impression this is what SOMEONE IS SEEING. We have a CLEAR view of Jessica and Chad. EXIT POV We are back in the room. PAN OVER-- To the right where the window is. They are still having sex, so sounds are still filtering through. ZOOM IN ON The window. As we get closer, we can see that there are TWO EYES at the window. They are black as night. No iris, no pupil, just BLACK. The face is shrouded in darkness, but it’s there. Chapter 10 EXT. OF HOUSE-NIGHT Sarah and Louis are walking outside, just slowly walking. SARAH Louis, what was that in there? LOUIS What do you mean? SARAH What you said to Katie. Why were you asking her about all that stuff? LOUIS It doesn’t matter. He turns his head, ENDING the conversation. The moon is out in full, casting SHADOWS all over the couple as they walk. SARAH Louis, I want to talk about us. Did you ever find a job? LOUIS No. I put in a couple applications, but I haven’t got a call back yet. He is acting normal now that they aren’t talking about the conversation he had with Katie. SARAH Well, I’m sure you’ll find one real soon. What company wouldn’t want you? You’re smart, you’re strong, you’re a really good kisser... LOUIS I don’t think that’s quite the quality they’d be looking for. SARAH Probably not, but I’d hire you just for that. They laugh. At this time, they arrive at Louis’s truck. LOUIS Stay here, Sarah. Turn your back. I’ll be right back. Sarah turns her back. ZOOM ON: Sarah, her back turned. We get CLOSER and closer. A hand comes up on her shoulder!!! She flips around. Louis is there! SARAH Louis, what-- He points over to his truck. There are blankets on it. LOUIS Come on. He takes Sarah by the hand and leads her over to the truck. LOUIS I thought we could lay out here and look at the stars. I know how you like that kind of thing. SARAH Louis, I don’t know what to say. I-I I love it. Just like I love you. They kiss. Louis picks Sarah up and puts her on the truck. He then gets up himself and lays beside her. Sarah snuggles next to him. SARAH They’re beautiful. LOUIS A beautiful view for a beautiful girl. Sarah (smiling) I really like this. I’m glad you actually listened to me and knew I liked the stars. LOUIS (TO NO ONE IN PARTICULAR) I know. SARAH What? LOUIS (AGAIN TO NO ONE) It’s under control. I got it. SARAH Louis! What are you talking about? LOUIS (TO SARAH) What? SARAH Why were you saying those things? LOUIS I don’t know what you mean, Sarah. I’ve been lying here with you the entire time. SARAH Are you okay, Louis? LOUIS Yeah. Come on; let’s look at the stars, just like you wanted. I love you, Sarah. SARAH (CONFUSED) I love you too, Louis. Louis puts his arm around her and looks up at the stars, a smile on his face. Sarah is lying next to him, looking a LITTLE confused. Chapter 11 INT. OF HOUSE-LIVING ROOM Katie and Tommy are still sitting on the chair, Katie sitting on Tommy. KATIE What do you think of my grandpa’s place? TOMMY (looking around) I’d say it needs a little work, but I could get used to it. KATIE Well, I think you’re the only one. Even I have to admit it’s pretty bad. TOMMY It might not be the best, but I mean, it works. KATIE You know what I just realized? TOMMY What? KATIE Everybody left. TOMMY Yep. They laugh. KATIE That means we can do whatever we want, and no one will see us. She kisses Tommy. TOMMY Well, I enjoyed that. KATIE (SMILING) Yeah? Well there’s more of that whenever you want. TOMMY How about now? Katie smiles and kisses Tommy, longer this TIME. Katie gets up and takes Tommy by the hand. She leads him OUT of the living room. DISSOLVE INTO A bedroom. The door opens; Katie and Tommy come in, kissing. Katie’s shirt is off, the same with Tommy. TOMMY Are you sure about this? KATIE Absolutely. They sit down on the bed. POV FACING TOMMY As they kiss, Tommy reaches behind Katie and PULLS off her bra. They embrace and fall back on the bed, OUT of view. Chapter 12 EXT. OF HOUSE-LOUIS’S PICKUP They are lying on the hood, snuggled up against each other. Sarah has her eyes closed. She opens them. CAMERA ZOOMS ON A silhouette IN THE trees. The moon is reflecting off of it. It looks like a person. CUT BACK TO SARAH Louis! LOUIS (looking where Sarah is) Whoa. Okay, babe, it’s gotta be our imagination. SARAH Both of us? Seeing the same thing? I doubt it. LOUIS Look. We’ve had a long day. Our eyes are just playing tricks on us; making us thing we see something we aren’t. SARAH(looking down at Louis) You’re probably right. It has been a long day. She looks back at the silhouette. It has changed positions. Now, its left hand is up and it looks like it is CARRYING a long thing, possibly a SWORD. SARAH Okay, that is not my imagination, Louis. LOUIS (looking) Okay, Sarah, just stay calm. He sits up. LOUIS Get off the truck. SARAH What? LOUIS Trust me. Get off of the truck. The silhouette stays the same. SARAH Louis, I’m scared. LOUIS (Calm) I know. Just trust me. He gets off the truck and takes Sarah by the hand. He slowly leads her TOWARDS the silhouette. SARAH Louis, what are you doing? LOUIS Trust me, Sarah. INT. OF HOUSE-JESSICA’S ROOM They are laying on the bed, a cover over them. CHAD I’m gonna go get some beer. JESSICA Okay, just hurry. I wanna continue our night. CHAD I will. He gets up, puts on a pair of pants, NO SHIRT. He walks out the door. DISSOLVE TO The kitchen. Chad WALKS in and nonchalantly opens the refrigerator and grabs two beers. He opens one and takes a sip. A CLUNK from the living room grabs his attention. He sits the beers on the table and slowly walks to the living room opening. CHAD Tommy? Mark? Louis? Anybody? Another clunk. Chad slowly walks in farther. He crosses the living room. He walks through the other opening. PAN UP TO REVEAL The MACHETE above the door is GONE. CUT BACK TO CHAD He is now in the other room. CHAD If you think you’re cool, you’re not. I’m not scared at all. Nothing. CHAD Go to hell, guys. I’m gonna go upstairs to my girlfriend, which you pussys can’t do because you’re too busy trying to play a joke on me Well, have fun. See ya. He walks back into the kitchen and grabs the beers. He starts up the stairs when he hears ANOTHER clunk. CHAD God damn it! He starts turning around, when a hand GRABS him and YANKS him out of view. Chapter 13 INT. OF HOUSE-JESSICA’S ROOM She is waiting impatiently for Chad. She tosses and turns for a little bit then SLAPS the bed. She sits up, pulls off the covers, and gets up. She goes and puts on a robe and goes out the door. DISSOLVE TO: Jessica standing on the top of the stairs. JESSICA Chad? What the hell are you doing? No response. Jessica walks down the first couple stairs. JESSICA Chad, don’t be gay. I know you’re down here. INT. OF HOUSE-KATIE’S ROOM They are lying in bed. The window is OPEN. Curtains flutter in the breeze. ZOOM ON Katie, asleep. She is tossing and turning. Closer and closer to her face. DISSOLOVE TO Katie’s dream. Our view is distorted, as if we are seeing this through a child’s eyes. The images sway back and forth, not too clear No facial features are visible. A girl is huddled at the foot of some stairs. MAN 1(V.O.) He was here for work just today. WOMAN (V.O.) Search harder. MAN 2(V.O.) I love all of you. MAN 1 (V.O.) I’m sorry. There’s nothing new. MAN 2 (V.O.) You don’t know anything. WOMAN (V.O.) I’m sorry, Katie. MAN 1 (V.O.) Nothing we can do. MAN 2 (V.O.) I love all of you. The images start coming faster and faster. WOMAN (V.O.) I’m sorry. MAN 1 (V.O.) Nothing happened. MAN 2 (V.O.) You don’t know anything. MAN 1 (V.O.) There is nothing going on here. WOMAN (V.O.) I’m sorry. Now the images are SAILING by. We keep returning to the image of the girl on the stairs. All the voices MIX TOGETHER as they speak. MAN 2(V.O.) I love all of you. WOMAN (V.O.) I’m sorry. MAN 1 (V.O.) Nothing happened. MAN 2 (V.O.) You don’t know anything. WOMAN (V.O.) I’m sorry. WOMAN (V.O.) I’m sorry. All of a sudden, the images that are flying by all ZOOM in on a man’s face. The face is MALICIOUS and his eyes give away the HATE in his eyes. He looks STRAIGHT at us! His face has on it a sinister look. FLASH TO REAL LIFE Katie bolts straight upright in bed, sweaty and breathing hard. She looks at the open window. There is a FACE looking in at her! The same face that was looking in on Jessica/Chad. It is just a silhouette, but we can see the same DARK, MENACING EYES, and a little bit of the facial features. Katie lets out a yell of terror. Tommy sits up, and puts his arms around her and tries to get her out of her trance. He starts shaking her. TOMMY Katie! Katie, what’s wrong? Katie, look at me! Katie flinches as if waking up. She looks at the window. NO FACE. Was it just a dream? Tommy looks at the window. TOMMY What? KATIE It was right there, I-It was staring straight at me. TOMMY It was just a bad dream. KATIE No, I saw it, it was-it was.... TOMMY Look at me. Look at me. There’s nothing there. Okay? You were just dreaming. That’s all it was. Katie is starting to calm down, but she is still pumped with adrenaline. She hugs Tommy HARD. Katie God, it was so real. And the dream, why-- TOMMY What about the dream, Katie? Talk to me. Chapter 14 Downstairs, a girl SCREAMS! The terror is evident even in her voice. KATIE Did you hear that? TOMMY Yeah, it sounded like Jessica! They both get up in a hurry. INT. OF HOUSE-HALLWAY Katie and Tommy come out of their door. Katie is dressed in a wife beater and pajama pants. We are reminded of the BEGINNING OF THE FILM. As they jog down the hall, a door opens and Michelle and Mark come running out of it. MICHELLE You guys heard that too? KATIE Yeah. Let’s go. They all run DOWN the stairs and look around for Jessica. They SEE her in the kitchen. She is standing with her back towards THEM. She has her hands up by her chest. MICHELLE Jess, why did you-oh my God. Jessica turns around and we see that her hands and most of her arms are COVERED in BLOOD. She has a little bit of it on her face, also. Her face has a look of TERROR and sorrow on it. She steps aside. ZOOM IN ON Chad. He is lying on the floor, SPRAWLED out on his back. When we get close, we can see what has happened to him. He has a slice that goes from one side to other by his belly button. He has another that goes from that cut up to his throat. His head is cocked at an ODD angle. There is BLOOD everywhere. On Chad and on the surrounding area. The cuts are DEEP. The girls SCREAM as they see this. The guys look on unbelievingly. Jessica starts crying. Her boyfriend has just been killed. Tommy takes Katie and turns her away. MAK God damn it. TOMMY How did this happen? JESSICA (hysterical) I don’t know, he went down for some beers and....I just came down a few minutes later and found him like this. MARK What are we gonna do?! TOMMY I don’t know. MARK I think we should go outside and get Sarah and Louis. They went outside, right? Tommy Yeah, but listen, I don’t know if that’s such a good idea. Mark Look, Chad was murdered! That means there’s a fucking psycho out there! Now we need to get the hell out of here and call the police. TOMMY Okay, I guess you’re right. Fine, fine man. Let’s go get Sarah and Louis. KATIE I can’t look at this anymore. MARK Let’s go! TOMMY What about our stuff? MARK Forget about our stuff, man! We gotta get out of here! They run outside. PAN OVER Chad is lying there, NOT moving. PAN UP: There’s a window and outside there is a SILLOUHETTE outside....
