Raphael The Redemption (2) DR. FERNANDO It is with regard to a statue She purchased about a year ago. Meghan comes into the room. MEGHAN What urgent matter? DR. FERNANDO It is about a statue which Came into your possession About a year ago. MEGHAN Why are you so interested in This statue? DR. FERNANDO The statue was stolen from me Thirty years ago. I am an archaeolo- Gist. Our archaeological dig at Machu Picchu was robbed. MEGHAN Robbed? DR. FERNANDO (very seriously) But, the matter that it was Stolen is not why I’ve come Such a great distance to find You Meghan O’Brian. It is what The statue is. What it repre- Sents. And that I’m sad to say Became apparent to me as I followed The trail of this stolen statue. Dr. Fernando takes the statue of the Inca god that Ida has been holding. DR. FERNANDO The statue time and time again Has been responsible in some way For the death of many young women And their unborn children. Most CONTINUED 18. 20 CONTINUED 20 DR. What are we waiting for? Meghan takes the statue away from Dr. Fernando. She smashes the statue against the living room Wall. DR. FERNANDO No! The Inca god statue explodes against the living room Wall in slow motion. A deep, vibrating, drumming sound Reminiscent of an ancient Inca dance, rumbles throughout The living room. Meghan grabs her stomach in pain! DR. FERNANDO My God! Meghan! What is it? MEGHAN I’m in labor! Oh, my God! The baby is coming! Dr. Fernando grabs Meghan. Ida tries to support her. They flee upstairs. 21 INT. MEGHAN’S BEDROOM – NIGHT 21 Dr. Fernando supports Meghan as they climb the stairs. Meghan’s sister follows behind. The Inca drums follow Them up the stairs. MEGHAN (frantic) I’ve gotta lie down! The Baby’s coming! DR. FERNANDO Hold on, Meghan. Steven rushes to Meghan’s side. Meghan, Ida and Dr. Fernando support Meghan to The bed. There is a loud booming of drums outside CONTINUED 19. 21 CONTINUED 21 the bedroom door. IDA Meghan will have this baby In a minute. MEGHAN More like any second! IDA Steven call 911. Steven dials the number. MEGHAN (to Dr. Fernando) Don’t let this thing kill My baby… DR. FERNANDO Don’t worry Meghan. I give You my word. The loud pounding of the drums outside the door Intensifies. MEGHAN I’ve gone and released this Evil spirit on all of us, haven’t I? Some demented, evil Inca god! Dr. Fernando nods. Meghan grabs her stomach in great Pain. 22 INT. MEGHAN’S BEDROOM – INTERCUTTING THE INCA 22 GOD WITH MEGHAN – NIGHT The evil Black Shape appears suddenly in a far corner Of the bedroom. Dr. Fernando, Steven and Meghan see It and are terrified. The evil Black Shape trransforms itself into the INCA GOD, which the statue resembled. It becomes more and More solid as it approaches them. A sword suddenly Appears in its hand! MEGHAN God! No! Not the baby! Steven jumps up from beside the bed. He rushes at the Inca god. Steven struggles with the evil, Inca god for CONTINUED 20. 22 CONTINUED 22 a few moments. The Inca god easily tosses Steven off. Steven hits the Wall with a sick thud. He is knocked unconscious. Dr. Fernando moves towards the evil, Inca god. Dr. FERNANDO Go back to hell, where you belong! 23 MEGHAN’S BEDROOM – (VARIOUS SHOTS) – NIGHT 23 A HEAVENLY ANGEL appears! She is carrying a golden Sword. The Angel tosses the golden sword to Dr. Fernando! Dr. Fernando, astonished to see the Angel, catches the Sword. He rushes at the Inca god and stabs it in the Heart. The Inca god lets loose a loud scream of agony. Suddenly, a legion of ANGELS appear. The room’s Ceiling disappears as they enter. They grab the evil, Inca god and carry him away. They disappear with the Evil, Inca god in a blinding light! Dr. Fernando rushes to Steven’s side. He looks at a Headwound, which stephen has received. From the bedroom window, there are red flashing lights And sirens. The ambulance has arrived. 24 INT. NEW YORK CITY HOSPITAL – MATERNITY WARD - 23 Father Doherty stands beside Meghan’s hospital bed. Meghan holds her newborn baby girl. She is wrapped In a pink blanket. FATHER DOHERTY And so, Meghan, what are you Going to call the little darlin’? MEGHAN I think that I’m going to Name her Hanna. Perfect Fingers, perfect toes. Steven comes in and surprises Meghan with roses. FATHER DOHERTY Well, I must be off. He holds a small boquet of flowers For Meghan. DR. FERNANDO You make a nice family. STEVEN I think that I owe my Family to you, Dr. Fer- Nando. Steven holds his hand out to Dr. Fernando. They shake Hands. MEGHAN Ida says that you are On your way back to Peru. DR. FERNANDO Yes, my plane leaves in Two hours. MEGHAN More digging in the dirt? DR. FERNANDO Yes, that’s about right Meghan. MEGHAN Well, just be careful What you dig up next time! Dr. Fernando takes her hand and kisses it in A very Old World, gallant gesture. DR. FERNANDO Good bye, Meghan. 25 INT. MEGHAN’S OCCULT SHOP – SIX YEARS LATER 25 The words: “Six years later” appear on the screen. Meghan, Ida and Geraldine are in the shop. Ida and Geraldine are putting items on the shop shelves. Ida leans on the counter, holding her hands over Her face. Geraldine walks up to the counter GERALDINE Girl, I thought you were Looking a bit glum today. It’s Tad, isn’t it? Uh, Oh! Geraldine gives an exaggerated gesture of dispair And drops her head onto the counter. Meghan comes Around the counter to her. Meghan hugs Ida. IDA My life is over. I’ll Never find a man, Meghan. I’ll never be as lucky as You and Steven. GERALDINE There, there… MEGHAN Well, as you both know, Due to my personal contact With the spirit world, I Have got all the answers. THE TOP OF THE OAK TREE IN THE BACK YARD – (VARI- 28 OUS SHOTS) – DAY The Angel, who threw Dr. Fernando the golden sword, is Sitting in the highest branch of the oak tree in the Backyard! She is playing a horn to the tune of “Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries”. ANGEL Meghan. Now that girl can Sing! MEGHAN (voice over) So how can you lose what You’ve never owned. 29 EXT. THE CAMERA PANS OF INTO THE CLOUDS BEYOND 29 The camera pans off into the clouds beyond. MEGHAN (voice over) Life is just a bowl of Cherries, so live and Laugh at it all… 30 INT. HOTEL BAR – LATER THAT EVENING – PRESENT DAY 30 Meghan sits at the hotel bar sipping her drink. Raphael holds her other hand. MEGHAN (singing) Life is just a bowl of Cherries… RAPHAEL Meghan, you’re singing. MEGHAN I’m drunk! As a goose. CONTINUED 25. 30 CONTINUED 30 MEGHAN (CONT’D) Isn’t it funny, but I feel Like I know you. I like you Raphael. RAPHAEL I like you too, Meghan… The BARKEEPER turns the volume up on a television Mounted on the wall over the bar. Scenes of the Gulf War flicker across the television screen. A CNN REPORTER is interviewing Steven, the UN Inspector who was forcefully evicted from the Secret germ warfare facility. Steven has a cut On his cheek. CNN REPORTER Steven O’Brian, as a UN inspector Forcefully evicted from what is Thought to be a secret germ war- Fare facility, do you believe that The situation is becoming critical. STEVEN I’m not in a position to answer That question. I’m optomistic That everything will be satisfactorily Worked out. Several REPORTERS push microphones into Steven’s Face. They shout questions at him and he is forced To run into a waiting car. Meghan watches the television. There are tears in Her eyes. RAPHAEL What is it, Meghan? MEGHAN My husband, Steven… He Looks terrible… I’ve been So worried about him, I’ve Hardly been able to sleep. Meghan turns to Raphael. MEGHAN (imploringly) Raphael, do you feel that Evil can be incorporated Into a single, living, human CONTINUED 26. 30 CONTINUED 30 MEGHAN (CONT’D) Being? Pure evil. I know Modern man would laugh at this Notion. They’d say that it was The situation that was evil, like This war that is going to erupt Any minute. But, I think that The evil is in this man, Sadam. RAPHAEL I believe that. Evil can be Incarnate. Even his mother knew That he was evil, when she was carrying Him in her womb. Did you know That? She tried to abort him. MEGHAN Then she knew. His own mother Knew… And now Steven is caught Up in all this. And I wonder how Many mothers will be crying over Their lost sons, before this thing Is through. Raphael takes her hand and Meghan appears to go Into another trance. 31 EXT. THE DESERT OUTSIDE AGHDAD, IRAQ – DAY 31 AMERICAN SOLDIERS with guns in their hands, drop Their guns and hold their heads screaming in agony. The sun turns red, and the sands of the desert run Red with blood. RAPHAEL (voice over) Meghan, the blood will be as A river, flowing and oozing Through the white desert sands. ‘Till the very sand is red with death. MEGHAN (voice over) Armageddon. 32 INT. MEGHAN’S HOTEL ROOM – NIGHT 32 Meghan lies unconscious on her bed. Raphael sits By her side. He places a wet towel on her forehead. CONTINUED 27. 32 CONTINUED 32 MEGHAN (groggily regaining consciousness) What happened? Did I faint? RAPHAEL (concerned) Yes, I’m afraid that you did. Too much wine. I hope you Don’t mind. I took you to Your room. You need rest, Meghan. You need to sleep. MEGHAN Yes, this tour has worn me out A bit. RAPHAEL A bit? Raphael starts to leave. Meghan grabs his Hand. MEGHAN Don’t go. Please Raphael Stay with me and hold my hand. Stay with me until I sleep. Meghan drifts off to sleep. Raphael kisses her On her mouth. RAPHAEL (gently) Sweet dreams beautiful Meghan. I will keep your Beautiful face within my Heart, for all eternity. 33 EXT. CEMETERY OUTSIDE THE CITY OF HOUSTON – LATER 33 THAT NIGHT A SATANIC COVEN of 13, perform a rite in a Houston Cemetery. One of the graves in the cemetery has Been dug up. The casket lies half in and half out Of the grave. Human bones from the casket have been scattered into A circle. An altar inside the circle faces north. The Altar is draped in black cloth with an inverted penta- Gram on it. Altar candles light the altar. Four torches Are situated in the four quarters of the circle. A human Skull sits on the altar. CONTINUED 28. 33 CONTINUED 33 JERRY, one of the Satanists from Meghan’s lecture, Is the officiating SATANIC HIGH PRIEST. He passes A goblet around to the twelve coven members who are Situated around the circle. One coven member passes The globlet to the next member in the circle. The last Coven member passes the globlet to Raphael! Raphael Has suddenly appeared in the circle! HIGH PRIEST Who are you and what are you Doing here? RAPHAEL Gee, I know that 14 is a crowd! A wind begins to pick up in the cemetery. RAPHAEL Gee, looks like you are all in The mood for a little devil worship. Hate to tell you this, he doesn’t Really exist. He doesn’t listen Either. Well, that is, except when It suits his purpose. Raphael picks up the skull from the altar. RAPHAEL (looking at the skull) Yikes! Well, there is a family Resemblance. No body home. HOTEL ROOM – HOUSTON – THE NEXT DAY 34 Meghan lies in her bed watching CNN on the television. A CNN REPORTER is interviewing Steven. CNN REPORTER I am talking with Steven O’Brian A UN inspector, who was recently CONTINUED 30. 34 CONTINUED 34 CNN REPORTER (CONT’D) Evicted from what was then thought To be a secret germ warfare facility. In a surprising turn of Events today, Iraqui President Sadam Has allowed UN weapons inspectors Inside what was believed to be a secret Germ warfare facility. Are you surprised Steven by this sudden turn of events? STEVEN Surprised and I’d even say stunned after So much resistance that we’d received. All sites under question have been seen And inspected as of this date. None have Been found to harbor any germ, chemical, or Nuclear warfare weaponry. CNN REPORTER What is your reaction today, after Hearing President Busch soften travel Warnings to Iraq? STEVEN I am stunned. We aren’t out of the woods Yet! In my opinion as an American citizen, I feel in my gut that Iraq probably still Has biological weapons. For years, Iraq Denied to UN inspectors that it had any Biological weapons programs at all. Then in 1995, it was forced by the defection Of Sadam’s son-in-lay Hussein Kamel to Acknowledge that it had been developing Germ warfare. In my opinion, Iraq still Has not accounted for all of the ‘growth Media’ it imported – meaning that it could Still retain both biological weapons and the Means to make more. There is at least five Tons of growth culture which has so far Not been accounted for. And so, I cannot Believe that the President would soften Travel warnings to Iraq! AIRPLANE ON ITS WAY TO IRAQ – DAY 35 Meghan is seated by the window of the plane. She Is asleep. CNN REPORTER (voice over) The United Nations will permit Iraq to import spare parts to fix Six helicopters used in crop dusting, A UN official said today. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization will Closely monitor the use of the parts, Which could be used to deliver chemical Weapons. The helicopters, which are Intended for use in spraying wheat and Barley crops, should be operational within A month. 36 EXT. THE ANCIENT CITY OF SODOM AND GOMMORAH – DAY 36 Helicopters fly over the ancient city of Sodom and Gommorah. The sun turns red and blood flows like Rivers through the desert sand. The helicopters are transformed into ANGELS. The Angels spread their wings and cry out in righteous Screams. SOLDIERS on the ground hold their hands to their heads In agony from the Angel’s screams. RAPHAEL (voice over) It was Michael who was the leader Of the celestial armies… The ARCHANGEL MICHAEL, spreads his wings and sweeps Down on the soldiers. He holds a sword in his hand. RAPHAEL (voice over) And on the Day of Revelation It is Michael who will weigh The souls on Judgment Day, After his battle once more With the forces of evil. CONTINUED 32. 36 CONTINUED 36 Raphael sweeps down from the heavens down to the Soldiers on the ground. He carries a scythe. RAPHAEL (off – screen) Not since the cities of Sodom And Gommorah has such evil perme- Ated the world of man. It was I, Raphael, who dealt death and des- Truction to that sinful city, with My sharpened scythe which has Been ready since Creation. Raphael uses his scythe in battle to behead a soldier. 37 INT. AIRPLANE ON THE WAY TO IRAQ – DAY 37 Meghan wakes up from her dream with a start. MEGHAN I know who he is! 38 INT. AMBASSADOR HOTEL – BAR – BAGHDAD, IRAQ 38 Raphael and the Satanist sit at a table having a Drink. RAPHAEL So, you knew David Berkowitz? JERRY Oh, yeah, sure. We were in The same coven. Really into Blood. New York. RAPHAEL I thought he worked alone. Crazy. JERRY Oh, no. It was the coven. Those shootings were done by Several coven members.
