Sorrow Anthology (3)

Stone Age
I heard a voice calling from the bush
It said to me, live is a big illusion, a long
Journey full of twists and turns, life is your
Creation, whatever you decide to do with it, do it wisely
My old man advised but I was slow to understand
But how could it be when I saw life as a rock
It wasn’t my wish to suffer in the season of gloom
I wished I had power, extra ordinary power, to transform things
I wished my mother wouldn’t bore me
I wished I would fly away with my own wings
Donald
Life Goes On
I am a wounded lion, strong in spirit
I fight for life many a times
I am a survivor by tactics
Always ready and active
I fell down and thought I need you help
I needed you to pull me out of the ditch
Since you were the only one who came
I needed you to transform my nights
For I was tied and my time wasn’t ripe
Donald Sumba
I trust On the Rock Above
I try to imagine the pain, on the old rugged cross
The shame carried by our born
As it was written that the son of man would
Be crucified, he suffered and died
Resurrected to bring us new hope
Now He’s gone to prepare us a new home
Among the hero’s I’ve every known
I know you stand out number one
The lion of Zion is the reason for living
The gift of God to us that was given
To ransom the darkened soul
To inspire with great songs
I trust in the rock of ages
That was cleft for me in the valley
Through storms of life may faith
I will hold on to my faith
Till the day I see the king
Sitting on the golden throne
Donald Sumba
Trigger
Greed is the reason why our society is in anguish
Single mothers cry, they sweat tears of blood, to provide for their own
The shuns are infected, orphans are abandoned, the street is in fire
Trigger rules out of the kingdom Ace
We are smuggled with no one to save
Loosen up help your brothers out
Be kind to the poor and take away the shots
Meek the earth, shall inherit at last
We complete and always draw on the sheet
But you’ll later come to know that man is
Mans worst enemy
Just observe and you’ll see
Hit The Sky
God is amazing, mysterious in His ways
He gave us different gifts, which should help us
Profit and contribute to our society
I remember when I was young I had a desire
then came a dream, so powerful as it was
and it took me by storm
I developed the interest in my hobby
Determined to make it to the top, I wait stop
Come what may
I am focused, my eyes on the prize, I’m
Climbing till I reach for the stars, I am aspiring
And I pray that God may help me reach the sky
Donald Sumba
I Saw Her
I saw her through the crack
She walked on the road dressed in red
I stole glances from my corner
I found solace
The lovely being once interfered with my life
She won the prize
She took my heart by storm
I was coiled through naïve
Time passed by but I’m still on her
There’s no letting go
The special friend ship of brotherhood grew
She warned my heart
I witty super and beauteous she was
 But gave, before I knew
A Long Way
I have a girl, so humble inside
She showed me the better part of life
If there would be a contest, then I would rate her the lordess,
 for she’s already won
I curse myself for the challenges I endure, for the life’s struggles.
I promised to take her to the moon
To see the stars above for the sake of her love
But I can’t afford it, I’m crushed with disappointments
My life has been full of opportunities
I love it
I can say ‘m lucky
But it’s expensive on the other hand, when I’m forced to use a gun
I fail to honour a promise and I become a broken man good for my self
When I can’t lay food on the table
I still have a long way to go
Donald Sumba

Planly
There’s a God’s season and a reason for doing what He does
There’s a project plan for every activity done
Therefore the best thing we can do to life is to appreciate
Why should you worry when the matter is in control
Take life easy on the positive note
Transform your trials to victories
And always be strong in heart
Challenges are there to make us strong
Stand firm to fight for your own
Never fear the wind for you won’t be blown
Donald Sumba
I’ve Always Admired You
Hey bro, I’m broke and broken, I’m lonely all by myself
My spirit is faint my heart hungers, I am seriously confused
I got her number but I couldn’t make a call
The first time I saw you my heart sank
We’d never met before, not at any one time
I tried hard and finally managed to speak
My heart to speak what was inside the cage
If I can’t have you, then life would be a great misery
If I can’t have your smile then life would be so unfair. I want to have you, with me
You are all I desire
I’ll be relieved to have something to appreciate for
My dear you, for I’ve always admired you
My African Queen, who’ve always made me a fool
Donald Sumba
What A Life
The son of a woman was born to suffer
I’ve seen a black moon roll in the sky
I am depressed and I hate it, when circumstances don’t favour
I fail and cry the tears of a soldier
Division rules, I’m not supposed to mingle with my brothers in plain
We always fight for reasons unknown but the record is set
We ate in the same plate, slept in the same bed
But since now that we are grown
Up we should fear each other instead of
Shaming some respect
Together we’ll pull through
Only if we learn that one leg has never enabled anyone to walk
Donald Sumba
Stray Bullets
Blood dropped, the crowd froze.
Pain was depicted
On the boys eyes
They watched from a far, but I volunteered to
Help for he was a human being just like me
Who had feelings of the same
They rolled the dice but failed on their game
He was determined not to give up the fight
For life fought so hard
I tried my best to nurse the wounds
The blood thirst beasts were on their mission to destroy
They were to take away but thank God almighty
Who fights for the rights of the innocent
He would soon be straight, for it was just a bend
Donald Sumba
Lord Mila Forever
I once met a star from a world called Lahash
We made friendship from the start
Life was full of fun and bash we stopped at a bar
I was richer than the cash
In moments of togetherness, we shared in the four moons that shone
We had great moments, I was really blown
Now it’s time to leave, I find it hard to believe
You leave with every bit, I don’t wanna think of it
Nick mix me, call the belly dancer
Orange doc, bring me the healing
I’m so tied up, I need to be free
A Maasai warrior trimmed
I’ll miss the team of four when you’ll be gone
But I’ll always keep you in my heart forever
I’ll put on you a butt, hoping that one day
We’ll be again together
Donald Sumba
See You soon
Different style, different marks
Different cultures, different people
But we mingled
We shared what we had, we made what we could
We built the foundation, we strengthened the bonds
And we tingled
Donald Sumba
Another Day To Praise
I was crushed be despair, I was tied by share
You came and lifted me out, you filled my
Heart with joy unknown with songs of praise you Lord
For the goodness you’ve shown for the blessing
Overflowing for the sun of hope, Oh Lord
For this beautiful day another day
You raised me from the grave, you took away my fear
I shout for joy, you wiped away my tears
You give me a reason to praise
Donald Sumba
Out Of
Out of my want, I cry for freedom
Out of my want, I’m hurt inside
Out of my want, I’m drained in pain
Out of my want, I’m hurt inside
Out of my want, I wanna ride oh Lord
Out of my, Out of my want
Let me flow, in the living water of love
Wipe away my tears, for you are my hope
Out of my home, show me the way I should stride
Out of my home, show me the better side of life
Out of my home, show me your goodness, oh Lord
Out of my, out of my want
Let me praise you, no matter what the circumstances
Let me glow, a resemblance of your beauty
Out of my, out of my gloom
Let me glorify love, let me sing with the hard
Donald Sumba
Sorrow Gone
I can the son of a rocket, who was once locked up
Love took me away, I drained in pain
A broken heart, when sorrow cut
I bled distress, when I was deserted
We fail in love with our partners, not because of their beauty
We are mixed up from the start, because love is what hurts
Now that I’ve resurrected, I can sing again
My love crosses the boarders, I shower the rain
Freedom at last has come, I’m afraid no more
Dreams come only if we can learn to wait
I prayed for the miracle, salvation from my vain
Can you heal my heart, you’re the passion of mine
Let my tune feelings glow, for love is what I bore
Let the past be gone, this is a new day for show
Let my sorrow be buried, your love is all I need
Donald Sumba
I Lost My Love
I was still hanging around, things were too fast for me
I tried to hold her closer, but I lost the battle
We grew up together, we were attracted to each other
I admired her lips
She was the dream come true, but things changed and I lost
I pressed on love, though I was tossed up
Donald Sumba
Tune Of The Turn
Wrong characters, they say we are
We lead on the show they say we are bad
We inspire the old, they say we are nothing but a lad
We have no voice to speak, we are destroyed in a nick
We are swept in the dust, we are thrown to rust
We are terminated upon our colour is the usual cause
I was there the day, I got a discount for admiring
But I am tired of listening the rumours keep spreading fire ravages the bush
We pull and push but we’re still stuck
We sow we don’t reap the fruits have been plucked
Oppression is what our society is made up of
They enjoy it like, but I wait for the day I’ll dance
To the tune of the turn Donald Sumba
When I Was Still Young
We were raised in the same home, with my stubborn kin
But thank God I survived the storm
I saw my big brothers cry, tears of suffering flooded the streets
I saw them standing, they froze
No one was there for them no one to keep
What a terrible life I thought I couldn’t understand the meaning
I failed when I stopped, I had no strength left in me
My heart pounded and went to the ceiling
I was dejected when I was young
I remember the cruelty, I struggled in brutality
For discipline of morality
We were forced to be meander in our locality
When we were young, we spent time together
In the warriors manyatta.
We told stories and shared moments
We were escorted later
And we want to sleep in our big house
We had a member
Donald Sumba

Memories
Now that you are gone, I’m sad for sorrow
Now that you’ve turned away I’ve no hopes for tomorrow
I am the world you build, I am your love your shield
You took me by surprise, when we meet at the first lane
I sit in my room and think I, I think about my
Dearest with every wink
The love that I will always treasure
With magnitude that can’t be measured
Donald Sumba
Fun At Spiders’
He held my hand, as we crossed the highway
The school driver was too fast, so he left us
Two naughty students we were, full of adventure
Bad boys in town sank in pleasure, we enjoyed
Ourselves by storm
We drank at spiders the joint
We drank to out fill, careful not to be corned
Classes were going on when we came by
The lecturer stared at us we had no reason to lie
We took the notes, and laughed the whole hour
Fun times in class, we did it our own style
Donald Sumba
Slipping On My Way
I was slipped in the straw, reprimanded with every blow despaired with every show.
I couldn’t make it, they thought
We live for today, thought life may be a nightmare
We live for today we shouldn’t give up when
Things turn bad we turn to God, we pray
Our everlasting rock, He’s promised our problems to share
Always make Him the first choice, get Him and
Get wrapped, He’ll fulfill your desire
I follow my star, where it goes I’ll follow spotted with a blur
I care about my tomorrow
Miracles works, I believe in the wonders
My past was black but I’m slipping on my way
Donald Sumba
Super Bawler
I can hear you knocking at the door, I open to find you are gone
I pity our men for they are all prisoners in den
Jay is not joy without pain, but mine is too much to understand
My pain is unbearable, I’ve tried to make my way thought
Only to realize that I’m miserable
One day will become my day, when the day will be straightened haven
I accept my share, the pain I never expected to have
The gift of life that was given and I hope that
On that one day, I won’t stare
Donald Sumba
Welcome To World
A lost life, a life gained
Six hours in a world lost, breath the first air when tossed
Laura, the gift brought, a new beginning for the era
An innocent soul, share for the new born
An innocent soul, share for the great moment
We stood at the stadium, sat on the visitors bed
Took photos in memories and laughed with every tickle
I was forlorn from news, took on the lead
As we left for the guest
We thanked God almighty for the blessing of the day
Donald Sumba
I Lost A Hommie
Some wished for death, some wished for health
Some wished for test but I wished for rest
I hold on I know things gonna be alright
I came too fast and that’s the way I go
I share my story as the past, when I was once blown
Of a life full of surprise, my ups and down
Life is not made up of whites and rather is it
Made up of blacks, looks at the kites
Try to solve life’s puzzle. You may find answer if you bite
But be ready for the attack of the shark
I lost my best friend on a car crash. I cried tears of the sun
I mourned at the bomb blast, I now cock the gun
I am hurt inside and my well has dried
I paint the sky, building monuments in the night
Donald Sumba
Iron Soul
My hommie got shot on his way home, bled in pain
As we prayed for the kingdom to come
We cursed the evil men, that they may also be cained
Our streets are in tears, my life is in tatters
We are incited against our peers, we fight for years
We’re grown beards, building carters in the air
I lost so many hommies along the way
Innocent blood flows immature, hopes are gone
We wish for a better day
My flesh is week but I stand along
You are bleached but I stand along
I believe in me, that one day I will make it big
Donald Sumba
I Am A soldier
I stink in jail, I was collected for pasting the mail
Guns rule out streets, this is something you can’t beat
Our children kill, they’re driven by pills
But I am rotting my dreams are molten
We keep fighting ourselves, ghetto life is what we know
We are charged for under, as this is the case
We have no time to grow , love was planted in us
We deny the chances, we encounter so many challenges
But we still fight in the world
Now they came for me, machine guns on the door
I am down on my knees, they tie me up
I say my last prayer, hoping that God will hear a smiles prayer
I am locked up in jail exconnected to my world
I am thrown in the water on a volcanic bail Donald Sumba
Leave Me Alone
I not in pain of the past
The pain of my struggles
I was a disgust, so wild in my ambitions
Wealth was a must, come easy would be my creation
Fully and perfectly I was loaded ready for my job
Born thug blood, we were enemies of the cop
When the going get tougher, we rowed
In and out of jail, I am the bird, I never fail
I am smart in my assignment, a gangster, I am still
“We live by the gun, so we die by the gun
I am a product of the hood, always on the run
Donald Sumba
Resisting Insanity
Everything has a reason in this world
We hit our enemies with a gun
Hatred dominates our hearts
And this is the works of the flesh
We are in the motion of a train
We live by our hopes and beliefs
We are confused without the word
Everybody is in search of truth
I bring revolution, to convey the beauty of the master
I bring goodness, to nourish our soul with songs of Psalms.
Donald Sumba
