The Prince Of Whales (13)

Some of them suggested, ‘as we are in the Polynesian Islands we must do as the Polynesians do’. They began to change their sexes like the sea basses and dance like the Polynesians do. They heard about the Soangi gospel of light in the fiery footprints on the shore. In the nighttime they saw luminous patches in the ocean.

They began to see all the Tamate spirits of the dead Polynesian chiefs. They cried out to Tangaroa the main god of the Polynesians. They saw Rangi and Papa hugging each other and tried to separate them so that they may weep and send food providing vapors into the cavity. They saw the peridineans and cephalopoda emitting white, blue-green and ruby-red lights in the cavity in the nighttime.

Some have hoped that they could revive the dead bodies to life by means of electric fish, torpedo ray and skates.

They caught the jellyfish and lit its nerve ring. They made experiments with the electric eels and the catfish. Strangely there is clear sunlight in one side and also clear moonlight on the other side in the underwater cavity.

There is a big salt lake in the cavity. Around the salt lake they have plenty of area to stay, move and sleep. After going through all the stages of Darwinian evolutionary process they finally became new underwater cavity species of special kind. They prayed to the honey guides and said, ‘we came for the noble metals and found the money fossils and sand dollars. Please guide the rescue teams to us’.

They tried to understand the nature of the cavity, its length breadth, depth and address. They have no food, no radio equipment and no instruments to use. After realizing that they are completely new species they settled down and started to think again. They used the cavity as Upsala pandemonium and began their adept discussions again. They reacted the paradise lost and relived their roles as the fallen angels.

Dr. Chad said, ‘manuscripts that have reached us indicate that as far back as 3000 years ago, people believed in huge mysterious animals that lived in the sea. But we are not in a position to verify the source of those ancient legends. Sea serpents do exist in the Pacific and Indian oceans. Now I invite your reports and practical suggestions in this regard’.

Captain Roger Felix thought that Dr. Chad became crazy. His crewmembers yelled at him and cried, ‘stop this crap you underwater orangutan. This is not the time to start making noise and invite the sea snakes. You know those sea snakes can hear the lowest voices from a distance. They can come and kill all of us just like that’. But the scientists habitually began to give their reports anyway.

Report one: The Fijian naval frigate Douglass’ cook once saw a strange creature, which was quickly approaching the frigate from behind. The face was a bit like an underwater dog’s. Its head was like that of a sea cow with horns upward and ears downward and much bigger. Its head was about ten feet in length. The length of the neck was no less than twenty feet and fins rose above the water some five feet. The total length of the creature was about eighty feet. Those were monsters and not a conglomeration of seaweeds. Experts who were used to the reckoning of the length and breadth of floating objects supported it.

Report two: As great scientists said, ‘it is easier to find proof of the existence of ghosts than of the sea serpent. People saw hairy frogs, manes, six-footed serpents, giant eels and giant denizens. One time we set out in a motorboat from a small Island for mainland. My boyfriend pointed out to me an object that was lying on the sea bottom at a depth of four meters. It was a huge animal. The water there was very clear and I snapped several shots of the animal. My boyfriend and I put on aqualungs and went down. It slowly turned towards us. Before fleeing I snapped another photo. It was hundred feet in length and had a rounded head about ten feet both in length and in width. I read this report from the best seller.

Report three: the New York Post reported the finding of a huge carcass, floating belly up. Sailors approached it in the boats and danced on its belly. Another carcass was washed on the coast of Mexico. The newspapers carried photographs of this chunk, which weighed about ten tons and was hundred and forty feet in length and ten feet wide. I have personally read these reports and came to the conclusion that we cannot trust the newspaper reports.

Report four: Let us continue the argument whether Komodo dragons can hear. Some said they could hear only certain sounds. Others said, ‘they perceive sounds traveling through the ground’. I know that they can listen to our conversations and may come to this cavity.

Argument one: My father directly heard it from the butler of Peter M’Quhae the captain of the frigate Daedalus and from the commander of the cruiser Hilary of Great Briton that the dragons had telepathic ears. We can expect them any minute.

Argument two: My grandpa heard it from the cooks of captain Georg Gunther Von Forstner the famous German submarine commander and from the Captain of the liner Santa Clara of Greece that some dragons and sea monks help us if we pray to them. I got this information from a priest who showed me an article from

People reported that they saw the Egyptian crocodiles wearing gold rings and bracelets on their legs and precious stones on their heads. These famous cooks of captains and commanders saw Vishnu-fish in the Arabian Sea, Jupiter-swan in the Indian Ocean and Asclepius snake in the Bay of Bengal. We can expect all those strange animals here also. We have to decide whether those creatures are our friends or enemies. We cannot trust the reports of those kooks. We see some fish and think that they had no teeth in their mouths. We may be right. But when we put our finger into its mouth we cannot get it out. Some fish have their teeth in their throats. Think twice before you put your finger in those cants.

Report five: We can spend our whole time in talking about those unscientific theories. I have a practical suggestion for all of you. When we happen to see an Asclepius snake we have to undress quickly because the Asclepius snake fears nakedness. I have learned this technique from my boy friend whose ex-boyfriend had taught him.

Report six: I heard that when people were in dangerous waters they prayed to Dr. Universalis Albertus Magnus who was great in magic, greater in philosophy and the greatest in theology to resurrect their dead physiologus friends on the third day with a pleasant scent like his anointed Savior-Panther. His spirit appeared and saved them. You guys believe in after life. We have to wait for three says before we decide to eat their bodies even when we gradually become cannibals in this cavity. My grandpa told me, ‘physical cannibalism is better than political anthropophagic cannibalism’.

The scientific discussions are over in the Upsala cavity. They all timorously said, ‘after all it’s the water that brought our earth into existence and developed it to its present state and created life. It would certainly create a new life in us. Let’s develop the spirits of Thales and Bombard in us. The ocean has every thing that we need for survival. We must make use of the gift of the ocean. We can press out the liquid from the bodies of the fishes to drink. We can develop distilling apparatus different from kidneys. Like the sea gulls, cormorants and guillemots we can develop salt glands and drink the seawater. Or we can obtain water from the air like the Crimeans. We can lick the walls of these cavities and tunnels for water. We must first settle down and think normally’.

Others said, ‘the air god Kara Bogaz would certainly bring water into the cavities. Like the bettongs we can grow hair in our mouths and extract water from the soil. We can store water on our bodies like Molochs and the agamid lizards and camels. When we find food we can eat like Lucullus and put two fingers to cause vomiting and then eat again’.

Another scientist suggested, ‘we must eat certain fish that can stimulate out brains and make us extra geniuses. If every thing fails we can become like the coprophagous beetles and mites and eat the dung-balls of theses underwater cows and horses. We can swallow stones like the whales, seals and walruses to prevent our stomachs from atrophy. We can imitate the venom-spitting snakes and learn to eject saliva at our prey. If we become love sick we can look for them to the point of deaths like lazybones. We can simply develop the mammary glands like Rhea and feed each other. Otherwise we can just give up eating like the ticks and Mayflies and look for the dry air like the anaerobes and labyrinth fish’.

Other crewmember suggested, ‘we can become like the Pogonophores which had no legs, wings, fins or even a head or intestines. On the other hand it had a heart, a spinal cord, a blood and nervous systems. What more do we need other than those essential parts under these circumstances?’

Others suggested, ‘our ancestors fashioned primitive stone tools. They trimmed one by means of other. They sharpened the ends of the arrows by means of flint scrapers and burnt them in a fire and hardened them. They lived their lives but we have been spending our lives in studying the matter. Let us live again. Let us begin to live like them and find a way out from here. Life is not just study’.

Others said, ‘I have noticed that under these circumstances we could hear very high-pitched sounds of up to 30-300 kilocycles like dogs, whales, dolphins and bats. The deep-sea mollusks have eyes up to 20 centimeters in diameter. We can develop all those facilities like them. Or we can make use of them’.

They managed without food for two full days. Then they tried every thing possible to find food. But they had no way to find food in that cavity. They noticed that the water level in the lake is going down. They realized that they have more room than before.

Suddenly Captain Roger Felix saw writing on the wall of the cavity. He asked his crewmen to clean the walls to find some more such writings. Everybody’s face was lit to find the evidence of human presence in that cavity although some years ago.

The writing started from right to the left. It seemed like a dairy of a man who lived in the cavity some years. They finally found that the person’s name is Boris Jacobson. They began to read the writing.

‘This is Boris Jacobson. I lived in Hawaii. It was May 1st of 1983. I was in my luxury boat with my wife Eliza, my daughter Lillian and my grand daughter Joan.

Someone suddenly hit on my head and pushed me into the ocean. I started to swim. At the same time a huge whale swallowed me. I was in the belly of the whale for three days. The whale brought me into this cavity.

Every day the whale takes me into the ocean and leaves me on the Island. I had every thing on the Island. In the evening the whale brings me to the cavity again.

One day I saw the bald eagle on the Island. It picked up a round pebble in its beak, flew up and toward big ostrich egg that it was unable to break by its beak and then dived down and released the stone like a bomb several meters above its target. The eggshell was cracked and the eagle feasted on its favorite lamellar omelet. I tamed and trained the eagle to break the coconuts by applying the same technique.

I saw the priapulida and learned the art of digging passages in the damp soil at the bottom of the ocean. I have been seeing many ringed migratory birds every year.

The instinct of home is very strong in birds. They have built in biological clocks somewhere in their bodies. I have seen great swarms of butterflies. Some laid their eggs and died. The newly hatched butterflies made their way back independently.

The white cabbage butterfly and the thistle butterfly fly in swarms while the admiral prefers to travel alone. I watched them coming here every year. I have spent all my time practically studying the animals, birds, fishes and the nature of life on the Island. This is a strange Island. It has every thing to eat.

But every year the Island completely dives into the water and stays there for at least two months. And then it comes up after two months. The migratory birds knew about this and they come during the safe time.

Birds can fly away and land without preparatory run. The humming bird is capable of flying forward and backward and hovering over a flower like a helicopter making 50 wing-flaps a second. Birds can carry much greater loads than the most powerful airplanes.

If we compare the average speed of a 900 kms per hour modern airplane with that of a 60 kms per hour homing pigeon we see that within a given time the airplane will fly a distance equal to 1500 body lengths ad the pigeon 5000 body lengths. The awkward bumblebee covers 1000 body lengths. I have learned the art of speed travel from these fish and birds. One can learn this technique.

A dragon fly developed a speed of hundred or more kms an hour and can cover a distance equal to 20-30 thousand body lengths in a minute. If an airplane could fly at comparable speeds, it could orbit the earth along the equator 20-30 times within an hour. A bird can fly 40-50 hours flapping its wings all the time taking no rest.

Even hawk moths have been known to cover a distance of a thousand or more kms in a day and night. A bird makes on the average 4-6 strokes per second i.e. 240-360 strokes per minute. The bumble bee makes 240 strokes a second, the housefly 330-350 and the mosquitoes 600-800 while other species reach a thousand i.e. 60000 strokes per a minute.

The jellyfish gives advance warning of impending storms and hurricanes at sea. And the grasshoppers forecast earthquakes. The dolphins saved me out of dangerous waters many times. My whale friend comes when it is the time for the Island to dive. I named him as the Prince of Whales. When the Island is completely under water I use to live in the cavity for two months. I took enough food for me for those two months. For the past twenty years I have been living like this.

I saved the skins of the dead dolphins. I imitated the shape of the whale and built a boat and saved 25% on energy carrying loads. I made boats in the shape of whales and covered with dolphin skins.

I added the vibratory tail fin of the swordfish and reached speeds up to a hundred kms an hour. I tried to escape in these boats. But all the boats I made hit the rocky walls and split in pieces. Some times the seawater washed them away before I could reach them. I also befriended the squid and attained the art of jumping out of water and flying 10 meters above the water for as long as 50-60 meters. I observed the water striders and learned water skating with them.

I tamed the giant spider and could jump so high to reach the mound. They also shared the weather report with me and I could get ready to save some rain water in the artificial rock-cut ponds and bamboo barrels. I also used the desalinating apparatus of the fish and obtained fresh water.

I increased the trichogramma’s efficiency and got rid of the dangerous pests and insects from the island. I invited the albatrosses every year and gave them messages for Eliza.

There is no escape from this Island unless someone comes here and digs a way out of this cavity. I had made boats several times and tried to go into the ocean. But some how I returned to the cavity no matter which direction I tried to escape.

This cavity is like the circus globe in which the motorist makes rounds and goes nowhere. The only way out from this Island is my whale friend. But he does not take me out of this Island cavity. I did not see him this year. One day I saw Onagadu Ri’s 10-meter long feathers. I had no idea how they came o the island. I searched for the bird. I know it has the longest feathers. I thought I could fly on the wings of the Onagadu Ri and go home. But I never saw the red jungle bird.

I met thirteen Thalmulic fishermen this year. We have been living on this Island happily hoping that someone will rescue us someday. This is a one-way Island cavity. You can come to this Island cavity but you can never get out from here no matter what you do’.

Dr. Chad said, ‘the writing stopped here. That means they had left this cavity. They must be somewhere on this Island. We have to get their attention. We must scream all day and all night in the rotational shift system’.

Captain Roger Felix said, ‘how can we trust this report? May be someone is playing games with us. The writing is definitely the naughty work of a hoaxer. We cannot just sit here without doing anything. We must find some way to get out from here. I am sure we can find a way out if we sincerely try’.

The crewmembers agreed and began scratching the walls of the cavity with bare hands. The scientists began to scream again believing that someone can hear their cries and respond.

They shouted in high pitch, ‘Hello there. We are here. Can you hear me? Do you read me?’ They cried and cried with all their might until their moribund sound reechoed in the cavity many times like the dying thunder.

Captain Roger Felix got a bad feeling that some thing is going happen. He was very much tired and began to sleep. He had a dream. In his dream he saw the Russian 19000-ton cruiser Peter the Great rushing towards their cavity with great speed. It is the pride of Russia’s Northern Fleet.

The Admiral Vladimir was ordering the ship to return to the dock. He became alarmed at the state of maintenance of its nuclear reactor. He was waving his hands and warning, ‘the ship may blow up any minute’. But nobody was listening to his cries. The ship came and hit the cavity and blew every thing into pieces.

Captain Roger Felix woke up in great horror. He heard the hideously boring sound of a giant drill. He hushed everybody and said, ‘something is going on in the ocean or on the Island. I can hear the rig workers talking and putting some heavy metal plates’.

Dr. Chad glued his ear to the wall and heard heavy hammer pounding and began screaming again. The scientists followed his method and started to run into the lake making dreadful noises. They thought that something is going to fall on their heads.

They became schizophrenic and involuntarily started doing all sorts of ritualistic things. They unconsciously started the black mass.
