And he counter signed the same and gave a copy to the commanding officer. Every thing is taken care of well. They started walking towards the aircrafts. The commanding officer excused himself to piss and noticed the big machine on the Westside. Every thing appeared very normal to the commanding officer except that curious thing. He quickly zipped his olive green trousers and adjusted his binoculars and said, ‘what is that strange looking machine there’.

Willy tried to describe its function and purpose but the officer wanted to see how it works. He began to move towards the machine. He asked the divers to get into the water and show him how it works.

Nick came forward and showed the papers that he bought that new machine only the day before. The commanding officer still wanted to see how it works. He called one of his men and asked him to go underwater and checkout the machine. The ninja divers went down and started the machine. The big machine drilled the underwater cavities and sent all the muddy stuff upwards. The small buckets attached to the rubber belt began to bring up mud and items related to the dead guys. The other ninja guys gathered that muddy stuff into the barrels and washed the items found. They showed the items one by one to the commanding officer. The commanding officer looked at the nickel-plated badge and read as ‘Captain Roger Felix Junior’.

He saw the braceleted and cut left arm and read as ‘Dr. Chadwin Lu’. He could not look at the smell of it and left the spot without saying a word. Everybody followed him towards the aircraft. The commanding officer jumped into the aircraft and waved all of them goodbye. The aircrafts left the big Island and flew to the other Islands.

Everybody seemed as released. Rodrigo appreciated the ninja guys for their seasonable behavior. They day shift ninja guys started the big machine and started the bricks. Willy explained Rodrigo and Nick about his tension about the antenna. They reconfirmed his equal partnership promise. They all became good friends for gold’s sake. Nick asked the ninja guys to load the body bags and the articles found in the air cargo. He reassigned the duties to all the ninja guys setting up the targets.

He told Rodrigo and Nick, ‘I have to deliver these body bags to the authorities first and then go to Hawaii. Do not try to call me. I will contact you if necessary. I will see you in the auction center. I am hoping that the big fish will certainly let us buy this Island. Take it easy and hit the target. Take care everybody’.

Nick took the gals back home. Rodrigo and Willy called their wives and chatted with them for an hour. Lillian told Rodrigo that he should come and see her mother as she began to talk and act very strangely. She is saying, ‘Lillian dear! I must go and see your daddy. He wants me to go to the dreamland with him. I must buy some dresses. Let’s go to Jefferson mall. Tell the driver to get the limousine ready in ten minutes’. Lillian handed over the receiver to Eliza and told her that Rodrigo is on the line. Eliza took the receiver and said to Rodrigo with her natural commanding tone, ‘Mr. Rody! Take us to Jefferson mall now’. Rodrigo remembered how he was faithfully serving Jacobsons as their limousine driver in the good olden days.

Rodrigo involuntarily said, ‘yes mem. The limou is ready whenever you are ready mem. I will take you to Jefferson Mall mem’. Lillian took the receiver and said, ‘you want to take us to Jefferson mall again. Remember what you did to me in the dressing room. You want to do it again’.

She remembered the good old days and the incident how Rodrigo came into the lady’s dressing room and helped to zip her dress. She laughed and reminded Rodrigo to see her soon. Rodrigo noxiously laughed and ended the conversation saying, ‘yes dear! I will drive you to the mall again and surprise you there this time when I come home. See you soon. Love you too. Bye’.

Willy and Wilma were also involved in hot conversations. Wilma used to always complain about his over righteousness and their poverty. Willy promised her that they would change their religion from ‘blessed are ye poor’ to ‘blessed with hundredfold gifts’ religion. Wilma noticed the change in his tone. She began to think rich. She told him, ‘I know you can do that for my sake. I love you’.

After getting excited about every thing Rodrigo said to Willy, ‘shall we go and see the other islands? The officer said those are tiny ones. May be we can buy one and share’. Willy started his naval aircraft and took him to the other Islands. They watched all the Islands with a bird’s eye view. On their way back Rodrigo began to dream and said, ‘ this is my dreamland. I clearly see huge mansions here. I see international tourists coming here to enjoy their summer vacation. I see Children Park and whales playing around. I see Sheikhs, Moors and Mozarabs buying gold from me. Its my dreamland’.

Chapter fourteen

It’s not his!

The public relations officer Stevenson in his Hawaii police head quarters special cell is patiently answering all questions of the relatives of the missing persons. On the other hand the media personnel are bothering him with other kind questions.

In addition to this answering session he is calling the relatives one by one to identify the bodies and the articles found on the bodies. The relatives of the missing persons are sitting in the waiting hall and watching the newscast. The special report about the empty research vessel further raised other questions in their minds. Who brought the research vessel to Hawaii dockyard? What happened to Dr. Chad and the scientists? Where are Captain Roger Felix and all his crewmembers? What happened to Sam and Joan? What happened to the rescue team? What happened to Shea and Matthew? Why did the newspapers say that Detective Bermann is still alive?

The media guys are writing all their questions to give to Steve. Whose bodies are these that were brought to Hawaii from the Polynesian Islands? Where did they find these articles? How did these articles get there? Did someone put those articles on the dead bodies of others to confuse the relatives? Who is behind all these confusion?

All the media persons are patiently waiting to feed on the live information. All the relatives are refilling their complaint forms with all the new questions. Officer Steve came to the hall with the list and called Dr. Chad’s relative to identify the braceleted and cut arm. Dr. Ming came forward and looked at the bracelet and said, ‘I gave him this bracelet as our wedding anniversary present. But the arm is not his. His fingers are longer than these’.

Officer Steve called the relative of Captain Roger Felix. Mr. Penang came forward and identified the badge and said, ‘the badge belongs to him but the body is not his. He is bigger than this body’. The identifications process took the whole day.

The relatives are identifying the articles okay but disapproving the bodies. Officer Steve and his assistants noted down every point and concluded the process for today. The number of the dead bodies is far more than the number of missing persons. The mafia leaders already identified those dead bodies as their ninja students. The mashal arts school principal came along with other ninja students and offered their prayers in a secret way for the dead ninja students. But they did not come forward to claim those bodies.

The relatives are in dilemma whether to light the memorial candles for the missing persons or await further death confirmations. Feggy and Cathy identified the articles but they could not find the bodies of Joan, Shea, Sam or Matthew. They returned with undying hope. But there are hundreds of people gathered to know the facts about their missing relatives.

Feggy asked Cathy to stay with her for some more days. They both returned home. Cathy straightly went into Sam’s bookroom and checked Sam’s files and e-mails. She suddenly saw the message from Matthew to Sam.

She quickly checked the dates and it was after the deluge. She thought that Matthew might have given this to Sam to check whether he responds or not. While she was carefully reading the message she came to a line which read as ‘tell Cathy I love her with all my life and I will marry her if she says yes. I will tell Joan the same thing when I see her. Bye. Matthew’.

Cathy involuntarily typed her response as ‘Matthew! I too love you with all my life. I will marry you. Just tell me you received this message. I will wait for you forever. Yes I will marry you’.

Her eyes became blurred with tears while she typed the response. She pressed Enter and eagerly waited for Matthew to acknowledge her love.

Feggy called Cathy to her room. Cathy left the computer room without shutting it down. Feggy was listening to the answering machine and found a familiar voice on the tape. She called Cathy to listen to the voice. The voice said, ‘Shea! You must find a way to contact your wife. No grandpa Joan and I will see mom tonight. We will convey the message. Don’t worry. Hello! Madam Jacobsons. This is the telephone man. I have to check the phone lines as you requested’.

Cathy rewound the tape and listened the voice again and said, ‘the low background voices involved in the conversation seemed to belong to the old message. And the overlapping louder voice seemed to belong to the latest message’.

Feggy listened to the message again and said, ‘but Cathy! Don’t you see that there is the same person’s voice in both the conversations in different pitches?’ They listened to the tape again and called Lillian to tell her about this confusing message.

But the guesthouse attendants told that Lillian went to the airport to receive Rodrigo. Feggy and Cathy walked into the dining room and sat there wondering about the message. They expected Lillian and Rodrigo any minute. The cook is arranging the table for the dinner. Feggy told him that they are expecting Lillian, Rodrigo, Willy and Wilma for dinner.

The cook rushed to the kitchen to prepare dinner for the sudden guests. The housekeeper brought the telephone man and showed the bedroom. He checked the answering machine and fixed some wire connections. He took the housekeeper’s signature and left.

The limousine stopped at the front door. Rodrigo and Lillian came with the guests. Feggy invited them into the dinning room. Rodrigo introduced the guests to Feggy.

They all sat down at the dinning tables. Feggy told Rodrigo about the confusing messages on her answering machine. Rodrigo went into the bedroom and checked the answering machine. The telephone man already cleared the confusing messages. Every thing is clear to him. He came back to the dinning room and said, ‘there is nothing to worry about. It’s an old message. That’s all. Every thing is clear now’. Lillian started talking about Eliza’s strange behavior.

Rodrigo diverted the subject and told everybody about the auction. He described all the incidents in a nutshell from the beginning. First of all Sam and Joan missed.

The rescue team got the false alarm and went to the islands. There they all died in the unexpected inundatory deluge. Then the search team went there and found the bodies in the underwater cavities.

Therefore it is absolutely necessary to continue the search on the Island. Meanwhile the government has suddenly decided to sell all the thirteen deluge-affected Islands. After the auction is over the search team can renew the permit and continue the search. Rodrigo revealed the gist of his future plan.

Feggy asked Rodrigo, ‘in that case we can try to buy the Island and continue the search. I heard from a friend that it is possible to stay alive in the underwater cavities for many days. I have requested her to come here with an eminent oceanographer. I thought it would be helpful for you to continue the search’.

After the dinner they came to the main hall to wait for Feggy’s friend Emilia and the oceanographers. They heard the van creeping to their front door.

Feggy’s friend Emilia brought about seven members into the main hall and introduced Dr. Cree and his team to Feggy and all. The kitchen crew served drinks to everyone. The team members checked and hooked their equipment to the big TV.

The eminent oceanographer Dr. Cree belonged to the Canadian Indian community. His team members are the expert speleologists and practical explorers of caves and underground watercourses. They are very good in potholing and the related activities.

Dr. Cree goes with his team and gives lectures around North America to encourage the underwater search teams. He introduced the other members to Feggy and told, ‘we are here to give a fifteen minute video presentment of underwater survival’. He switched on the TV and let everybody enjoy the show.

The scenarist Dr. Cree started with a short introduction about the underwater lithosphere, the crust and the cavities. Then the story of the four Thalmulic fishermen from the Fijian Islands continued. There was an inundatory deluge in the ocean. The fishermen suddenly entered into the underwater cavity.
There are many types of underwater cavities. Those are turtle-shaped, jar-shaped, duck-shaped and plain cavities. The Thalmulic fishermen were in a jar-shaped cavity for a month. Then again the seawater brought them to the surface of the newly birthing Island.

The rescue team found them on a newborn Island and rescued them. They are alive now. They were the living witnesses of that Jonah miracle. The show ended there.

Dr. Cree introduced his team members again and said, ‘these are the live witnesses of that miracle. These are those Thalmulic fishermen from Fijian Islands. Meet them, talk to them, take their professional assistance and be encouraged to search for your beloved ones’.

Dr. Cree completed his lecture and allowed the audience to meet the Thalmulic fishermen. The fishermen showed some paper cuttings and commercial advertisements and said, ‘we do the search. We charge a minimum’. Lillian asked, ‘how much? The Thalmulic fishermen coolly smiled and said, ‘we charge as much as the life costs per day. It costs three meals per day, plenty of chai to drink and enough tobaccos for cigars. That’s all we charge. But there is one more thing. If we help find the missing persons alive then give us a tip. If we help find the missing persons’ dead bodies give us nothing. But if we find gold, it’s not yours. Here is our number. Give us a call’.

Rodrigo took his visiting card. Feggy wanted to ask the Thalmulic fishermen about the food and water during their survival period but her voice was quivering with empathic thoughts of Shea and Sam and the other beloved ones.

But she made up her mind to suggest Rodrigo to hire them for a full search after the auction. She personally thanked her friend for introducing Dr. Cree and his team.
But her friend Leah said, ‘don’t thank me. It’s the Sikh guy. He met me out of blue and told me about Dr. Cree and his team. He said he is Shea’s friend and that he has already paid Dr. Cree for his video presentment’.

Feggy tried to recollect Shea’s Sikh friends. Rodrigo and Willy approached Dr. Cree and asked him the personal question about the gold. Rodrigo said, ‘we are helping the teams for about twenty years and made enough gold to participate in tomorrow’s auction and buy an Island’.

Rodrigo curiously asked him, ‘did the whales allow you to take the gold away from the ocean? Dr. Cree popped into laughter and said, ‘of course you need to speak the language of the whales. Otherwise they will never allow you take the gold from the ocean. The whales are the most trusted ocean’s gold ore protectors than you and me you know. We have to hire the device that converts human speech into whales’ language. I will introduce the old guy that rents the device. Call this number tomorrow after six pm. Or you guys can see this old guy at the auction. He is planning to buy the Islands’.

Rodrigo and Willy looked at each other and said, ‘okay DR. Cree. We will see you at the auction hall tomorrow. Please introduce us to that old guy. We need to talk’.

Dr. Cree and the team took all their equipment and left. Lillian said, ‘Feggy, we have to take my mom to Jefferson mall. She wants to buy new dresses. We will see you tomorrow’.

Feggy reminded Rodrigo that he should hire Dr. Cree and his team to go for a full search again. Rodrigo, Lillian, Willy and Wilma waved Feggy goodbye and left. Feggy then remembered Cathy and called her. Cathy is busy chatting with all her e-friends. Her friends got messages to tell Cathy that Matthew loved her. They all wondered and started chatting with her. Every friend ended the chat with one question - who is sending these messages to us unless today is the April Fools’ Day?

Cathy heard Feggy’s voice again and shut down the computer and went to her bedroom. She has been thinking that all those missing persons are surviving somewhere and suffering. Cathy also wanted to believe in the similar lines.

They both recollected Dr. Chad, scientists, Captain Roger Felix and the crewmembers. They started rereading the newspapers. The Aloha daily newspaper has written in the editorial that some of the research vessel team members might have been surviving in the underwater cavities all these fifteen days after the deluge. The editorial guess is right to certain extent. Dr. Chad and captain Roger Felix were caught up in the underwater cavity along with other members. The fittest might have been rapaciously surviving by feeding on the available live fish for few days. But the fish had already left the area and migrated to the safe places. Afterwards the survivors must have cannibalistically turned to the dead bodies of the ninja guys. The newspapers are not sure about their predictions yet.

Those ninja guys were not trained in the underwater survival techniques. But Dr. Chad and his scientist friends, Captain Roger Felix and his crewmembers might have quickly adapted to the modern cannibalistic lifestyle. They must have been waiting for the rescue teams to come and find them.
