Ucw: The Story Of The Man, Part Three (6) Date: July 7th 1998 location: Sayers Estate The stones that filled the driveway to the Sayers estate left a track of footprints of where the main man of the house had walked home. He wanted desperately to see his family again after what he felt like was a long vacation away. The final footsteps to the front door were still to be made as he walked slowly listening to the blaring pop music that Rachael loved to listen to and the sports channel which almost conflicted in the height of sound with Rachael’s pop music. He walked closer to the house still listening to what was going on inside the house, contrasting it with the time when the Sayers estate only contained two lovers and not their children to come. It seemed so different now; the whole house was full of vibrancy and energy. The problem was, for Tony he didn’t feel as if he had that energy anymore, almost like he wasn’t part of the family anymore. Although Amy and Rachael always tried to reassure him, that feeling was always there. He slotted the key into the door and realised that no one would be able to hear him if he came in. he turned the key slowly and the door unlocked and flew open with a gush of air. He saw the open foyet that lead to the rest of the house. As he expected there was no response so he advanced into the house. He dropped his bags and rushed upstairs to talk to his daughter who was disappointed by he recent departure. The door was already wide open; it was full of pink colours and pictures of the latest teen sensation which in matter of fact happened to be Tony’s old school friend Ben who joined UCW just before he captured the world title. The music was still on but his daughter was not there. He walked over to the stereo and turned it off then looked around the room “RACHAEL!!! RACHAEL!!!” he shouted out aloud and there was no response. He shouted again but as loud as he could but still no answer. He rushed down the stairs to the living room where he could hear the overly loud television almost screaming out baseball results and wrestling pay per views. He rushed into the room with such speed and nervousness that he broke down the door. No one was there and now Tony started to get a little worried, sorry let me rephrase that. He was scared shitless. He turned down the television so he could hear himself think. Just as he was about to shed a tear the cordless phone rang. He walked over to the wall and picked it up with his shaking hands. He could barely hold the phone in his hand as a dark mysterious voice beated into Tony’s ears “hello, Mr Sayers, oh and if you ask I do have your family, even that measly slut you call of a wife” Tony’s emotion switched to anger quickly “what are you doing? Who are you you fucking freak?” the person’s voice seemed to be light at this moment, almost as if it was his moment of triumph. “Lets just say I’m an old relative of Amy’s and I’ve some to repay a lifelong debt.” Tony started to become hysterical and came out with anything that flashed to mind “you want money? How much do you want?” “No no no Mr Sayers materials like that don’t interest me, settling old feuds is what keeps me dreaming at night” “so what exactly do you want me to do” “nothing Mr Sayers, this is between me and my sister” “so your Jason right?” “Oh well done Mr detective, I tell ya what why don’t we play a little game” “go on” “you try and find me and you’ve only got one week to find me and stop me from exacting my revenge” “and I guess that this is the only way to solve this problem is your way” “or each member of your family can take a trip to the graveyard” Tony slammed the phone down to disconnect the line “dammit he could be anywhere!” he thought. This task needed more than just himself. He needed some serious help, so he grabbed the phone again and got some friends. Date: July 8th 1998 location: Car Park lot 6 AM The three men stood by their three cars, all the latest and sportish models. One of them had blond hair, muscled but drained with love. The other man was enormous, with dark blue hair that was just looking out for his brother. The final man was not as tall but was by far the best looking out of the three had gelled red hair and was also looking out for his childhood friend. Ben, Mosh and The Man hadn’t slept all night as they were devising their battle plan. Over the night as well Mosh had traced the telephone number to the outskirts of New Jersey, it would be a days drive to get there. They gathered supplies from the nearest shop like food and drink; also I large can of petrol for each car. Finally they set out, Man had written the traced number down so he could phone up if they were short of time, or if he needed to talk to Amy. They all had their own separate cars, and they all went separate routes so they could cover more ground. 8 AM Man had just reached the inner part of New Jersey and he had just contacted the other two who were just a little behind him. He looked at the road then at the passenger seat. His cell phone laid gently on it and he thought to himself “something so small is the only thing keeping my love intact” he took it in one hand and tapped the buttons rapidly, he was going to phone Jason. It took him awhile to finally press the green phone button that would connect them both. He pressed the phone tightly to his ear just awaiting the call. After 30 seconds of waiting Man was about to give up on the call until a short crackling kicked in “hello?” said the voice of Jason. “Just phoning up to see if our little deal is still on” “oh Mr. Sayers I presume, my my you found my telephone number how clever of you” “you should know by now that I won’t stop at nothing to have my family back” “yes I have learned that Mr Sayers very determined but you know that I never had a wife Mr Sayers” “what’s wrong, having that plastic mask shattered into your face not doing wonders for the love life?” “You don’t know what your talking about, everyday having the kids at school laugh at you, never being able to go to work because of some stupid punk ass mask!” “Now now Jason don’t get angry” “DON’T GET ANGRY, you know what, I should kill all of your family right now” “NO NO please no don’t… hold on, you bastard you would never hurt them yet” “hahahahaha your right Mr Sayers, but thanks for giving me a laugh, to tell the truth my childhood was great, y’know I killed over 10 people before they caught me at the age of 12 and slammed in an insane asylum” “I don’t care about any of that shit” “yes I know, but I’m in a great mood now thanks Mr Sayers, fear always makes me smile, goodbye” “no, I still want to..” the line disconnected and to add salt to the injury, the police had spotted him talking on the cell phone and started to pull him over. He had no time but he couldn’t outrun the police on a highway so he obeyed. “This is a legal offence Mr Sayers,” said the police officer that stood parallel to his police car but yet parallel still to the handcuffed Man. He had already lost half an hour talking to the police officer, a half an hour of which he desperately needed. The police officer was the typical fat law obeyer. Also it seemed as if this little pull over was going absolutely nowhere. Man never liked his next approach, using his celebrity status to bribe his way out of troubles but this was a desperate times. “Heya, officer do you want an autograph, do you know who I am?” the officer looked over at him, for the first time looked at his face and realised who it is “yeah your that famous wrestler right? I tell you what, give me an autograph and I’ll let you go”. The Man nodded in approval and shaked his hands for a pen. The officer handed it over and said, “How much do you think this would sell for?” Man rolled his eyes back as he scribbled down the autograph. Then quickly after he handed it over he heard the locks sliding out of place as he was freed. He shook the hand of the police officer as both men got back in their cars and started to drive away. Then The Man thought to himself “haha, sucker, that aint my real autograph, hahaha”. 6 PM Ben had reached the destination a little early; he had just to pinpoint the exact location of the phone call. However he lost his phone when he chucked it out of his car window because it had no reception. To be a complete shitter Mosh was the only one who had the tracer and Ben was crap at remembering telephone numbers. All he had was the rendezvous point that they said they would meet when they got there but knowing the others they would be here the next morning. He was a much faster than the other two simply because he chose the fastest route and had barely no respect for the national speed limits. Although he had to thank lady luck for his escape against the police just recently. Ben was full of energy and he was only few years younger than Man, he strived for fun and danger. Boredom was his only enemy but he had to face it, he had nowhere to go and he had to wait for the others to arrive. God this was going to be annoying… He was approaching fast, quicker than expected. Making better time as he was expecting to arrive at the destination a little later than 3 the next morning. However by his calculations he would arrive at midnight. He had been trying to phone Ben but he couldn’t get a thing. It was almost as if his phone were dead or something. Man was way behind and way of track as well, it would take him the morning to get there on time. Mosh hoped that Ben was all right or maybe he took the wrong track. He could have been arrested or was already there. Mosh just kept his eyes on the road, for in secret he had secret feelings for Amy as well. Although he realised that he couldn’t have her he couldn’t deny his feelings. This was not the right time though in his eyes, if he was going to tell her and Man then he should do it when neither of their lives are in danger. This was a tricky development though in his eyes, no doubt he wanted her and wouldn’t have second thoughts in stealing her from his adoptive brother even if it did mean destroying an almost solid family. He knew Amy loved Man but what if she also loved him. He knew that Amy had a gift to make anyone’s life a living heaven and he wanted it. He wanted it so bad that he was willing to go to any length in order to get her, even if it meant consorting with a madman. “God, I’m way behind,” thought The Man and he was right, he was losing a lot of time. He had phoned Jason again but there was no answer. He left the cell phone ringing just in case he decided to talk. He suspected that by the time the next morning hit he would have found the destination. He had contacted Mosh and rectified his security but as for Ben, there was no trace of him and Man was starting to get a little scared. As if he wasn’t already started to be scared already. He sweated almost constantly and the hairs on the back of his neck stood constantly. However this fright almost gave him enough power to carry on, he had also contacted his father and he was on his way to help as well. He didn’t know why anyway because it would take too much time for him to get to New Jersey from England where his latest show was. It was going to be a hard journey but he was going to make it, if it was the last thing he was going to do. Date: July 9th 1998 location: Outskirts of New Jersey 3 AM “All here” “all accounted for” “right lets figure out where to carry on then” the 3 men had just caught up with each other early in the morning, about 3 o’clock. Tony was the last person to arrive; he had been caught by the police many times and had been held up by many hours. Even still all the friends were there, weighted with fatigue and hunger. The trio decided that they needed food to carry on so they tracked down a little diner opposite the petrol station they were situated. This was almost miraculous as no other diner that the three knew of was open at such a strange hour. The smell of the diner was a lot different from the station; it smelt of waffles rather than spilt fuel. Mosh brought his very technological tracker with him so the three could decide the best action according to their situation. All of the men seemed to be tired and hurt, they had been diving non-stop for the last day. The three seated themselves at the window edge of the diner. The Man took his wallet out and slammed it on the table to signal to the nearby waitress that he was ready to order. She walked over; she was much younger than expected but still had the put on Texan laugh. “So guys, what’ll it be?” Ben looked up at the young woman and forced a smile, Mosh just looked down at the table and The Man unclipped his wallet as he prepared to order “your biggest burger, don’t forget the cheese”. The other two looked at him in disbelief, since they had joined UCW they had never had a burger. It was too unhealthy by Stephanie’s standards and technically forbidden. The Man however had his own rules and regulations; he did what the hell he wanted. The other two still stayed defiant until the smell of their fresh meat floated from the kitchen into their noses, just invited them to eat. When the waitress came over with the order, the two friends had changed their mind quickly about the burger. They were so hungry and they needed something to eat, plus they had missed a whole days worth of training so a good fatty burger would be good in the long run. As soon as The Man handed the heavy 20-dollar bill over the other two stuffed themselves and to their amazement The Man’s radical planning had got them further than they expected. After they finished the meal they had realised that they would of never got here as fast as they did without burning desire. Whether it was love, friendship or faith the reason didn’t matter, as long as they found and saved the three people that meant the most to The Man. After a quiet chat they realised that they were closer than expected, Ben had picked up a map on the way so that the group could get an exact location of where they were going. At the present moment they were situated on the outskirts of New Jersey. Mosh looked at the tracker to found out where they were headed to next, the display picture said to him “track lost, need fresh source” he looked around in total disbelief at the others. “The tracker lost it’s trace, we need to get a new source to go by” The Man didn’t sound in a panic mood, strange considering the situation that he was in. “I’ve got Jason’s number on my phone, will that work?” Mosh’s face lighted up as he realised that if they had Jason’s number, they could just retrace anytime they wanted. “Yeah, where is it?” Man looked out of the window to his car, of which he used to be so proud of but now he just wanted Amy. “It’s in my car, on my cell phone, I’ll just get it for ya” he headed straight for the car while the other two waited in the diner making more drink orders. He walked over the road that separated the car and the diner slowly, not a lot of cars were on the road at this time of day. He beeped his car from afar, unlocking it so he could get in. his sight changed for a little while looking back at the diner to check on the guys. When he looked back, someone else was getting into his car. His car was being stolen and he was too far away to do anything about it. The others had noticed that as well and ran out of the diner without paying for their fresh coffees. Man didn’t know what to do, he was too tired but he needed the phone. He didn’t even need the car! Just as the others got in the car and sped of on chase of the stealer Man looked around for something that was fast enough. One person had left his high priced motorbike unattended just behind where he had parked his car. He jumped onto it and saw the keys left in the ignition. Gladness rained over his face but then it suddenly hit him “I’ve never ridden a bike before!” Never less he still needed to catch up so without thinking he turned the keys and the engine roared to life. Like a lion the speedy bike jolted forward fastly, Man’s quick reactions helped him not to hit the wall in front of him. “No turning back now,” he thought to himself. The bike was just big enough to fit the big man on, so now his legs were tight on the bike and his fists were clenched on the handlebars he was ready to go. 4 AM
