Ucw: The Story Of The Man, Part Three (2)
“Where were you, you were gone all night” Amy literally screamed. Although Amy was shouting at him Tony regained his smile. “Fancy moving to the states?” Amy continued to argue not taking notice of what Tony was saying. “I got a new job, with a massive pay rise!!” That seemed to strike Amy right in the heart. The couple sat down and talked about their new life and the anticipation started to brew inside. They packed their things immediately and took off on their new life in the states, their life moved fast but that’s the way they enjoyed it. Tony had enough money from his last paycheck to buy food and a flight to New Jersey of the US. On the flight over Tony described his new job “it’s not exactly what I had hoped for but last night really opened my eyes, I’ve got a talent apparently said this guy who saw me wrestle, he works for Ultimate Championship Wrestling better known as UCW” Amy laid back softly while holding her cup of coke “you must be joking, UCW is like the best wrestling company in the world, even some other companies who have no connection with wrestling revolves around UCW” Tony just smiled with joy every time Amy spoke “hahaha you are the man!!”. Tony switched quickly to deep thought “that’s it!! That’ll be my wrestler name, The Man, Tony The Man Sayers” Date: September 13th 1991 location: New Jersey He felt the strain, the sweat and the pain. He realise just how big he had to be in order to compete in his new job. Only sheer determination pushed him on, his skills as a wrestler had drastically increased. The next couple of years would be training and small shows for Tony, he could just live on the pay and his lover Amy was surviving as well. UCW seemed to help their employees more than any other company. Tony got to meet the best wrestler at the moment as well, Element. He was the heavyweight champion and almost twice the size Tony. Everyday was the same as the last, training and even more training. Even on days off he would bring Amy to the training ring and train with her, she had been getting more muscular as well, and life seemed well. He had settled in as a UCW employee. Date: February 2nd 1996 location: UCW demolition “you ready mate?” said Element. Tony looked up “it’s my first pay per view, I don’t want to let my family down”. Element chuckled “the match isn’t that big, your only going against high flyer”. Tony Smiled, his sports gear with the perfectly engraved words “The Man” was the only thing stylish about him tonight. “I gotcha a little present man!” Tony looked up and breathed slowly as the music hit in the arena. “that’s the music I wanted for my entrance!”. Tony ran to the curtain that disguised the wrestlers away from sight until they walked through to change their whole character. From now he was The Man not Tony Sayers from Shady Surrey. He brushed his blond, gelled hair back several times just to keep himself focused and ready for action or so he thought. He was secretly scared shitless, and he didn’t know what the hell he was supposed to do. A sudden rush of energy hit Tony as he heard the crowd scream for his name. He slowly put his hand on the black curtain and clinched it with his hand. With one steady movement he swung open the curtain and walked onto the stage avoiding the obvious fireworks and also with his taunts like his trademark double arm up with grab. The deafening sound of the roaring crowd infused The Man with excitement as he made his way to the squared circle. His entrance was as quick as can be, before reality fully hit him he was already in the match. The bell rung and the two men locked up, The Man was a lot bigger in strength to the redded high flyer. This meant that he was no match for high-flyer in the air but would dominate the match in slams and drops. All the matches in UCW were improvised so that match information would not leak out. Within the lock up The Man powered out of the lock up and grabbed flyers head for an early DDT (dangerous death trap). As the match continued the crowd were surprised at the amount of talent in the ring but it was clear that The Man was on top of the match. He managed to use his special manoeuvre, his patented deviator. A viscous power bomb where the opponent is thrown into the air and double handed slammed down onto the neck. No one has managed to stop the pin after this move yet and high flyer was no exception, 1…2…3. The Man’s eyes opened wide as he realised victory. A standing ovation filled the stadium with joy. He looked up and saw all of the smiling faces but more importantly his wife’s. Amy was jumping and screaming just like he did when he first saw his father wrestle. He pulled himself up and displayed his might to the crowd. The moment was so fast before he knew it he was on the floor with extreme pain, it seemed as if he was attacked. All his blurred vision could decipher was a white attire, he knew who it was. Tony’s pace quickened as fast as his anger did “why? Why did you do that? I was a hero!” He stroked his dyed white beard and laughed, “hey it’s all to do with the ratings, I don’t know why you’re so angry, and you don’t seem to know what comes out of this?” Tony fumed with anger “what could possibly be good coming out of this Nick?” the element just laughed and unlocked his Mercedes “next pay per view is megalation the big one, this one show almost gains the company 100 million dollars worldwide every year and you are in the main event against me brother, title on the line” Tony was silenced, only a handful of people had made it into the main event of megalation let alone won it but Tony was going to give it his all. He looked distantly and element’s car which had driven away from the stadium. With his sports bag over his shoulder he walked over to his newly bought SL500 which inside carried his newly wife. To Tony he was living in complete paradise. Date: February 5th 1996 location: New York hospital “I’m sorry to say Mrs. Sayers I’m afraid your husband had gained a fractured arm and will not compete for another 3 months” Amy sighed a deep sigh and her face dropped “that’ll mean he’ll miss his title shot!” the doctor smiled a reassuring smile but it was not convincing enough, Amy knew that Tony would never be fit for that match. But now she had to break the news to her loved one. She pulled out her hair band letting her black shimmering hair run wild around her shoulders as she slammed her hands upon her face. The tears slowly dribbled down her silky skin and her sliver eyebrow piercing. She wiped her face with her forearm and began to walk to her husband’s ward. She gained speed, trying not to look at anyone else in their current state of illness. She did not enter the room slowly like many people would do, she ran in wrapping her arms around Tony screaming over and over again “I’m so sorry” Date: March 12th 1996 location: Sayers apartment “Hey Amy, it’s about to start come on girl” Tony shouted with a playful voice. Amy clambered down the stairs with her duvet around her body with a big smile on her face. She jumped straight onto Tony who quickly moved his endangered arm and looked deep into Amy’s blue eyes. She then realised what he was about to say “I’m sorry Tony, I’m sorry for a lot of things, like your arm, you know I didn’t mean hitting you don’t you? I love you, please say you love me”. Tony just kept looking “you cost me the best match in the world, you endangered my career and well being” Tony just giggled, “I would take a lot more just to look at your sweet face”. Amy wrapped the duvet around the couple and grabbed the television remote. She tapped a few buttons and megalation hit their screen. The couple hugged eachother and watched the talent in front of them. Element showed an extremely great test of skill defeating death legs in a great match. All that Tony could think was about his shot, what would of happened if he was there wrestling. He started to daydream a little, if he did win, if he grabbed the title in his hands and if the crowd were to rise in ovation to respect him. In the biggest match of the biggest event in the world. His eyes opened in marvel as UCW signed out. Amy turned the television off and looked at Tony who had been looking at her all of the time. She pressed her head against Tony’s muscled chest which beated slowly and calmly. She fell to sleep soon after her husband did; Tony went to sleep first because Amy had a loud snoring problem. Date: March 19th 1996 location: UCW conference hall “We’ve been monitoring your progress in the physical and wrestling state Mrs. Sayers and I have to say we are very pleased with you” Amy frowned with confusement at the situation “what are you guys talking about, what is all this?” the chairman spoke in a friendly tone “my name is Stephanie and I own this company, when we heard about your husband’s injury we decided to look after him like we always do and that’s when we found your potential as the next female wrestler” Stephanie had dark brown hair with a kind of sadistic business look. She was heavily busty and fairly built. Amy’s face was a mix of happiness, confusion and shock. A contract was presented before her with a legally bonded job for 4 years. She signed slowly and handed it over, she had always hoped for more time with her beloved. She walked out of the conference room with one of her famous smiles. She looked at the almost empty waiting room for her husband who sat quietly at the entrance to the room. He walked over to her and spoke as he entered his conference “I know what’s gonna happen, it’s up to you now”. He sat down in the seat allocated for him and laid his hands down on the table, business was in session. One of the executives spoke in a clear voice making every sound noticeable “you must know why you’re here Man, we cannot waste our money on an injured man and now is the time to terminate your contract”. Tony slammed on the table but respected their decision; inside he knew that they were making a mistake. He walked out to Amy who was full of questions to which he replied “this company is going down, don’t ask why but I know, I’ve done the figures but I won’t let this company down, I will be back Amy and I will be back just bare with me, love me” he drove away into the distance with Amy chasing behind, she was no match the car. Amy could hardly believe what happened before her eyes, again the tears came again as she walked home somehow respecting Tony’s path. For the next year she would travel with the UCW tour and wrestle in the name of The Man. The fans usually shouted things like we want The Man after every show. Ratings and profit had taken a steady drop. UCW was beginning to fail and The Man was nowhere to be found by their scouts. Stephanie admitted her mistake of firing him to the press that sent out a media frenzy. Things were on a spiral bad. Date: February 23rd 1997 location: UCW Ultimatium The crowd were unimpressed by the matches in front of them; Amy was trying so hard to get the show going. In the end she gave up and collapsed. She limped her way out with a pain in her leg. A soon as she left the ring area and out of sight she burst into tears. Agent smith walked to Amy with comfort “you gonna be okay?” Amy smiled and instructed that it was his turn to wrestle. “What you gonna do smith?” Smith shouted as he ran to the curtain “an open challenge, hopefully it’ll get the fans attracted”. He did his usual thing in the ring, a bit of trash talking and awaited his opponent. Amy watched from backstage with her portable TV. No one seemed to come out as Amy covered her eyes in disbelief; the show was going way down hill. But then the lights went out and the simple words echoed in the stadium “The man is back!!!” The Man’s music hit and the crowd roared with excitement as he ran to the ring, in awesome condition and his wrestling was the best seen for quite some time. He battered away like a ruthless animal, which is what the fans really wanted to see. He saved the show and the crowd seemed to love every match afterwards. As soon as Man was finished he went backstage to see his wife. As soon as she laid eyes on him, she punched him in the face and then hugged him. She couldn’t get enough of him, hitting him over and over again in anger but then just holding on to him through her love. He looked at the mirror across the room and looked deep into it, realising what was to come. His dream of becoming the best was almost going to be within arms reach to become reality. Stephanie walked in closely afterwards watching the couple reunited and her show reunited by the same man she revealed a new contract on which The Man replied “later, get out of here now” she could hardly refuse to the person who saved her wage. She walked out slowly allowing her saviour to have his sweet time. His attitude had changed, he truly was The Man now and he was ready to take over no longer as a boy. Amy could see this and was more than ready to join Man’s wild ride. As Tony changed, Amy could feel his heartbeat while hugging him. It was wild and pure, cold and warm. Amy now was unsure of her loved one but felt a revolution. His time was now. Date: February 24th 1997 Location: Sayers estate
