Forgotten Memories, Uncompleted (2) Michelle awoke with the taste of blood circling in her own saliva in her mouth. She sat up only to see a man whom she recognised. He was fairly built with short black hair and a powerful frown. He approached and began to communicate "hiya, I’m Ryan Kinden, I was one of the guys who hurt you I just wanna apologise". His apology disgusted her, she took no notice and looked around the rocky, dirty cell. She wiped the sticky blood from her face and looked at the man. "What the fuck do you want?" she said with a demoralised tone. He was surprised at her aggressiveness but just remembered his training, quick vocal abuse was the words of a scared person. Michelle wanted to blank out all thoughts and get her head together, she felt no feelings except extreme pain on her right set of ribs. As she began to stand, she realised a couple of ribs were broken or bruised internally at least and she did not trust the guy in front of her. He had a military stance and was obviously trained as he did not loose sight of her. Michelle could taste the electricity. Chapter 4 trust The darkness was like light to Vikki as she hid in the black of the night. Mr. Green was just behind as her heart raced just as fast as she did. The arrival of the police was very unexpected but for Vikki it just added to the fun. She had almost forgotten what her objective but not her companion. He had been almost obsessed with trying to find Michelle. They had searched the town at least 3 times checking every crevice and crack for their deranged friend. Things were looking grim though as the heavy drag of fatigue settled into both of them and draining all their energy. They had no other place to check unless they wanted to go into a military and police stronghold and that would be plain stupid. Vikki crouched down behind a pile of waste garbage and thought about it for a second. It finally caught her, if Michelle were on the street alone with wanted notes around the city of which she was hiding in of course she would be at the station. She would have been caught, the only reason she wasn’t in jail was because of Mr. Green’s help. She twisted her neck around to see him beside her "I know where she Mr. Green!" He took no notice and continued to look at the alley at patrolmen going off duty. She continually tugged at him only to get no response. After about a minute of tugging he finally turned to her with the face of thunder, he didn’t like her attitude. He had a plan, check the streets then the sports centre. He knew a shortcut, which would save him 30 minutes of an hour trip. He wasn’t going to risk going to the military and police HQ as that would be out of the question. He knew the girl wanted to go but like he wanted, he had a plane and he was sticking to it. He grabbed Vikki and went out onto the empty but lit up street. If a random police car came by they would be seen but they wouldn’t go down too easily. As for Vikki, she just followed him as he sneaked fast down the street and then dashed down an alley of darkness as he spoke "the police station is down this way, should take about 30 minutes" he knew what he was doing. For along time the two just stared at each other, the girl was not as he had expected. Ryan looked at his watch with one eye "shit 6:30". As he ran out of the cell he heard her speak again. "Their gonna kill me aren’t they?" he turned around and peered through the rusty bars. He couldn’t see her face as she intentionally hid it "no they won’t it isn’t regulation" he walked away and broke into a run to the briefing room, he didn’t want to but he had no choice. He slipped his key card through the slot outside the briefing door that whooshed open to reveal the back seats of the room. He could hear the general talking as he stepped in, his was in for some crap. The general was in typical uniform while with regulation hair cut and spit polished shoes. He was the most stereotypical general he’d ever seen. Just like a school class the platoon looked around with disgust. The general just looked up with a frown "Kinden! What the fuck are you doing so late! One word out of you and you’ll be locked up and shot! Sit down!" Ryan sat down fast like a scolded dog while listening to the orders by the general. One by one the soldiers left the room with their orders for the day. Then it came for Ryan’s turn. The general looked straight into his eyes and talked slowly "you’ve got an easy task Kinden, the execution of Michelle Vorn, can you do that?" Ryan just thought for a minute and agreed then swiftly left the room. He thought to himself "I can visit that girl again after I get rid of this Michelle Vorn" he retraced his footsteps back to the cell wall where he collected the death records of the crim. He walked into the cell with his face down looking at the records. Psychopathic behaviour was the title that caught his eye. He looked up with gun in hand not looking at the crim but taking aim anyway. He looked at the wall with the marks B4 had been painted in white. He had visited this cell before, it suddenly hit him. The girl that he’d promise would live would have to die by his gun. He raised his head to Michelle Vorn and he breathed slowly as time stood still, as his mind remained in a state of utmost disbelief. All that he could see in Michelle’s eyes were the image of a helpless woman who had no idea of even what she was. The thought of protocol did not cross his mind, he was in too much of a predicament to think of his job. Ryan did the first thing that came to mind that was to run, run and pretend that the deed was done. He covered his tears and ran past every officer and grunt until he reached his cell. It was empty thank god. Something about the girl "Michelle" brought him back to life, brought him back to reality. It took them a hell of a while to get there, the police had blocked most of the ways to the sports centre. A 30-minute journey had turned into a 3-hour marathon. They ran into an alley for cover and a rest. Vikki was in a great deal of pain, she knew not to dive onto broken glass but she was forced to. As far as she knew she was heading for the police HQ but Mr. Green was a clever old man. As Vikki bandaged her bloody wounds her companion had noticed something and began to probe the area. She looked around as drops of water dampened the surge of wheels on the street. She caught the sight of Mr. Green summoning her to his position. She began to limp over toward the middle of the alley. They were not in the middle of two buildings but in the middle of a house and complete blackness protected by an old chain link fence. As Vikki looked hard at the fence just like Mr. Green he spoke "look here, it looks like blood". She focused hard around the area that was indicated and she realised that what Mr. Green said was true, it was blood. She also saw a piece of wood that lied on the floor. The wood corresponded to a small opening in the fence that was just big enough for her to fit through. As she began to go through she realised that Mr. Green was engulfed in the darkness behind the fence. She rushed through, damaging her wounds more. She limped as fast as she could and a building’s outline was just visible. Mr. Green broke into a run as Vikki could only see him pressed against a wall. She just carried on but slipped on something on the floor. She regained her footing and realised that she slipped on a puddle of blood of which had a badge in it. She reached into the pool of blood and pulled out the badge that was completely red, stained in human life. She put it in her pocket as she realised that it was almost morning. Time was running thin. The only thing keeping them out of jail was the dark and they had no place to hide once the sun came up. Mr. Green was becoming impatient. Vikki rushed to Mr. Green and showed him the artefact. "Right, it’s obvious she was here, lets wash that thing off" he said while begging to walk "I’m sorry for being a dick by the way". Vikki just felt sympathy and walked with the old man inside the sports complex. It had just opened, it was 7am and the sun began to rise. Mr. Green had seemed to turn over a new leaf and was beginning to take a shine to Vikki. They went to a washbasin near the swimming pool and started to clean the badge, it was going to take awhile. Chapter 5 the big picture "this whole thing has gone way out of control, I hire you guys to sort it out and only one gets the job done" he relaxed in his chair in his smart office, his black gelled hair and long face was a dominating look in the room that he owned. The two men in front of him were just pawns in his big scheme. "don’t you realise the danger of this operation, if one slip up happens between the either of you both of your asses are on the line!". He almost felt amused in the way his pawns were scared of him. "the police department is not pulling it’s weight is it not chief?". The chief just looked down at the floor, he couldn’t bear to look at his superior. "your lucky to have SFIT in this town to cover your mess" the general just smiled. " Maybe I should let them be the new police force, they would do a fucking better job!" he just laid back in his chair and began to smoke with a huge grin on his face. It took her awhile to figure it all out. She was covered in blood and her head was circling in pain. She began to stand up but could not go full way. She looked up at the cell door, someone had opened it. There was a brief thought inside Michelle’s head "the sliver lining". She stumbled her self onto the wall and stood firmly. If she was going to find her friends she would have to do it now but She felt sympathy for the young soldier who seemed sad to see her but now was no the time for pity. The opportunity presented itself and she was not going to miss it. She ran out of the cell only to be faced with an obstacle. The guard at the gate at the exit of cell wall was heavily armed and trained. Michelle had to swallow the last drops of blood in her throat before making her approach. She crept behind the guard and she snapped his neck with complete ease. She picked up the gun that he was carrying. She looked at the gun to identify it when it hit her, it was a m16 assault rifle with a full clip containing 30 rounds. Michelle was amazed on how much she knew about the rifle, she knew more about it than her own life. She had a natural talent for the gun as she had pinpoint accuracy while testing it on the bars of an empty cell. Luckily no guards were around to hear the 3 rounds being shot in cell wall. She opened up the exit door of cell wall with the dead guard’s key card and the door swooshed open to reveal a walkway through a round room. She looked up to the left while still concealed by the half open door. It was a control room well more of a security room. As she focused in the room she could see many security cameras with Gatling guns attached. If she tried to run she would be mincemeat in seconds and taking the guns out would not be an option as her position would be easily given away. Michelle hit herself in the leg and looked back up at the control/security room. There was a guard in there but he looked as if he was asleep. She decided on a plan "climb up to the control room and go out that way" but the plan struck a couple of hitches. The room was round so she had to find some sharp apparatus to create a way to get to the control room. Plus the cameras were not moveable so about half way she would have to change direction so the Gatling gun would not catch her. Killing the asleep guard was not a factor, which would be easy. While hunting through the empty cells what caught Michelle’s eye was two daggers, which would not penetrate concrete so she would have to hope that the structure of the round room was made of wood. She walked slowly through the exit door and began her climb. To her luck, the structure was made of cheap wood and the daggers had no challenge in staying in them. It had been an easy trip but she had forgotten about the camera looking at her. It got a sight of her and all that Michelle could see was the Gatling gun warming up for the kill. Just then the voices in her head became aggravated and echoed in her head. She blanked out but just as the gun opened fire, she had awoken into the possessed demon that had already killed. She jumped from the spike that she had created in the wall and was heading for the window. By now the guard had awoken only to see a bullet fly to his left eye and head. He was on the floor dead when Michelle smashed the window and entered the control room. Although the guard had already been killed there was no time to start asking questions. She looked at the control panel and tapped away as if she had known it for years. As she continued to tap away at the panel while wiping the blood away from her head she pressed the enter key. She didn’t really know what she was pressing but she heard a large thud near the closed security door. As she began to walk toward the door but it swooshed open to reveal a swat team on pursuit. She rolled behind ones of the super computers that lined the room and was completely out of sight. She could hear the footsteps of the SFIT soldiers as they cautiously entered the room. They seemed to have focused on the dead body. As the first soldier moved toward the body the second ran from behind him and began to check the dead soldier’s pockets. Michelle looked around the small room a caught sight of an approaching soldier who took aim on her. Michelle used her agility to move quickly and get a clear shot at the soldier’s throat. She fired with pinpoint accuracy and soon his death was made. As for the rest of the squad they heard the shot and took position. Michelle was boxed in, she couldn’t get to the door and all possible routes were blocked. She would have to think of something quick or she would be dead. She tried to think while she could hear weapons being reloaded, she didn’t have much time. Her hair was gently brushed away and without thought or plan she ran into the heart of the battle with her gun blazing what almost seemed like a million bullets a second. Her legs pumped with energy and her heart exploded with determination, the only thing that she wanted to do is get out of there alive. She had killed two of them, one with 3 bullets in the chest and one with a bullet to the brain. Before she could reach the door she stumbled and felt large pain in her right arm. Her immediate reaction was to close the door as now she was on the other side. She shot the controls so the remaining three soldiers would not bother her. As far as she knew, she had been shot and was losing blood badly. The area she was in was the courtyard of heavy weapons. There was a fence that she could blast through but it was a gamble, there were tanks on the side of the courtyard and they may be automated. "I’ve come this far, why stop?" she looked at the searchlights surrounding the courtyard. There must have been a balcony that the lights sat on. There was not much light in the courtyard if there were not any searchlights but Michelle had got the gist of the route that she would take. As she pulled herself up an unexpected guard had spotted her and shouted for backup. Michelle used the wall as a kick-start and began her death run. The once dark area that she surveyed had become a glowing gold of automatic bullets. She could only hear smashing glass above her when a tank came to life. As soon as she could look at the alive tank it flashed in an explosion. Someone had blown it up with a rocket launcher from the broken window. Suddenly the sound of footsteps could be heard from behind her. The person was carrying the launcher and must have deliberately helped her. The figure overtook her and blasted off the fence while she limped over. The figure ran back, picked her up and began to run away from the complex. From here she could recognise who is was "Ryan!" She screamed his name out several times before passing out. For the first time everything was inside her. CHAPTER 6 PIECES OF THE PUZZLE Vikki was getting annoyed with the badge, she couldn’t get the last parts of the blood off. Mr. Green had gone to get some food and wouldn’t be back until the morning. Vikki tasted the 4 am air and began work on the badge. Normally blood would come off with a little water but this stain was hard and almost impossible to get off. Some of the blood chipped away from Vikki’s fingernail and the badge was almost clean. She could only see the letters FIT and what seemed like two crossing swords on the top. Vikki pondered to herself while walking around the leisure centre car park. Everything had happened so quickly over the past few days and the team could barely hold together, Vikki could tell that even her happy mood was not going to dampen Michelle’s determination to find her identity. However she decided to not think about it, she had plenty of time on her hands and she had not visited the outside world for some time being in jail and all. She took the time to wander around and enjoy her life. His cheerful mood changed drastically as he received a call from his cell phone. His black hairs on the back on his neck as he heard the news from the general. His so-called great plan had turned to mush and he made that quite clear to the general as he walked down a long corridor, he was heading for the SFIT headquarters. The corridor was black and singed with water with what seemed like a broken sewage pipe. He continued to walk on his route with only one thought on his mind "I’m gonna kill that prick!" He reached the destination and swiped his card through the buzzing security lock. The door did not open obviously the door mechanism had already been malfunctioned. The door was easily breakable though, it had been burnt to a crisp. His black boots made easy work of the inoperable door and he slowly walked in, immediately turning his attention to the general who sat in the first row of the conference room. "I know I’ll play Mr. Good shoes then I will make sure he will pay for his insolence!" he creeped into the row behind the general and made the conversation "what happened my friend" with a smirk. The general sat up and looked at the two swords "I wanted to create something that couldn’t be destroyed, something that people could rely on, something that my ancestors would be proud of y’know Master Svill?" Svill just laid back thinking of how low and pitiful the general was as he spoke "everything is dead sometime and I guess SFIT just was there at the wrong time but at least you’re alive" the general looked at his superior and spoke again "yeah I am lucky to be alive, the chain reaction of explosions must of killed everyone else but at least I will live to keep their memories living on" the general smiled but it sooned dropped when Svill held a gun to his head and fired a single but effective bullet "no you won’t". Svill fired a few more rounds into the torso of the already dead general to cure his anger for the time being. As her eyes opened from what seemed like a long sleep. Michelle looked around and sat up in what seemed to be in the backseat of a car. She looked carefully at the person who was driving. It was Ryan but he hadn’t noticed that his comrade had awoken. "What happened?" croaked Michelle. Ryan looked back quickly but looked back at the road when he spoke "hey look! Sleeping beauty, you took a hell of an escape run my friend". The road was busy and noisy. "Where are we going to?" Ryan switched gears and accelerated fast and Michelle knew why, the cops were near but they were not seen thanks to the lines of traffic. "News says that they have spotted two wanted criminals that are apparently linked with you, they are at the leisure centre apparently". The traffic outside almost engulfed the conversation and the two had to almost shout to hear each other, the hustle and bustle of the neighbouring town was just too loud. The road that they were on was long and bumpy as if it had been used consistently over the past couple of years, it was in need of hefty repairing. She slowly climbed into the front seat and laid back in the soft chair. “I guess we’re heading there” said Michelle while buckling herself into the front seat beside Ryan. He just slowly nodded while keeping his fix on the road ahead. Michelle realised that they had a couple of miles to go and decided to sleep some more. She had deserved it. He didn’t like the amount of patrols around, it was becoming slightly suspicious. The young girl had proved very useful in order to keep their presence unknown. The badge had been destroyed. Mr. Green thought that it might leave a trace that SFIT or the police could follow. They were still at the leisure centre, the place was almost like a temporary home. Even the employees had taken a liking to them, maybe because they stopped that robber earlier on the day. They managed to dodge another police patrol and found themselves in the restaurant of the centre. Their thoughts of Michelle were still strong, although she was the cause of all this trouble nether less she was still their friend. They couldn’t go anywhere else to find her because of the patrols, they have become very violent recently. Their only hope was to stay at the centre and to meet Michelle there but if they couldn’t get into the city, Michelle probably would have a hell of a battle getting out onto the outskirts. Mr. Green looked at Vikki as they sat at the table. He handed out a five-pound note “get a plate of chips for the both of us will’ya”. Vikki smiled a weak smile, the fatigue and hunger had started to get to her. She pulled herself up and walked to the counter. Mr. Green looked out of the window that gave a good view of the entrance to the centre. He looked at the parking lot. Not many police cars were there maybe three maybe four at most. As he turned his head back to the entrance, there was almost 20 police swat personnel running toward the front door. “Vikki HERE”. Vikki ran without her order of the plate of chips and suddenly realised, they were in some shit. Mr. Green raised his elbow and made a hard impact of the glass cracking it in some places. That had caught the attention of the customers in the restaurant but he continued to beat down the window. It refused to break open until Vikki kicked with determination and shattered the window revealing a big drop to the ground. Mr. Green grabbed the edge of the roof and shimmied across so he could climb onto the slanted roof. Vikki closely followed but as she started to climb up she felt someone grab her leg. It was a swat soldier trying to pull her back onto the restaurant. Then suddenly a flash of light hit the soldier and he was blasted backward. It was a bullet to the head. Vikki climbed up only to hear Mr. Green shouting “its Michelle!!”. Vikki looked up and searched to where Mr. Green was pointing. It was her alright, waving behind a heavy-duty snipers rifle.
