The Girl No One Knew (3)

“Because I was scared! Couldn’t get anything in my mouth! Can you three hurry up? Im starving!” Misty urged. When they finally appeared in the great hall, Misty took the closest seat next to her at the Gryfindor table and started filling her plate. Half way through breakfast, after post had come and Mcgonnagale had passed out their class schedules, Misty was on her second helping of pancakes when someone interrupted her.
“Excuse me, sin, I need to talk to you.” Hearing the name Voldemort gave her, she jumped, her food spraying every where. She turned around to see Draco Malfoy standing there.
“What is it you want Malfoy?” asked Hermione standing up and glaring at him.
“I thought I already said Mud blood. I said I need to talk to her.” Draco sneered.
“You idiot!” Misty yelled, and slapped him in the face.
“Sin, I need to talk to you now.” Draco sneered, putting a hand on his cheek, now red with anger. Misty, nodded and followed Draco out of the hall, leaving Ron Harry and Hermione to stare in amazement.
“What is it Draco?” misty sneered back.
“Do you know how mad my father is going to be? He’ll tell his lord, and you’ll get punished for slapping me.” Draco said maliciously.
“You mean, you’re soon to be lord? I don’t care if Voldemort kills me! I could care less if he killed your father! Heck, I’d be happy!” Misty yelled at him. In one quick movement, Malfoy had her against the wall, his hand squeezing her neck while the other one held her hands above her head.
“Don’t make jokes about my father! You don’t know him…” Draco was saying, but she cut him off.
“I don’t know him like you don’t know him is that it? You don’t know your own father, and you’re mad at me for mentioning him.” Misty hissed at him.
“YOUR WRONG! I know my father!” Draco yelled at her.
“THEN WHY DID YOU GET MAD? If you knew your father like I know him now, you would be happy he would be killed by your future lord!” Misty croaked as his grip on her neck tightened. “He’s a murderer and you know it. You just want to make your self believe that he’s a good person.” She whispered putting her hand on his wrist and starring into his eyes.
“You’re just mad because my father was there when they killed your parents!” Draco sneered.
“You little annoying prat!” misty screeched, and in one quick movement, misty had him pressed against the wall, hands behind his back with one of her hands, her other hand pressing his head against the stone wall. “Don’t dare talk badly of my parents. At least they didn’t murder people.” She hissed dangerously into his ear.
“I know my father. Yes, he’s a murderer. I know that! You think I’m happy he risks his life every single day in the hands of the dark lord?” Draco coughed out.
“You mean your future lord? And I wouldn’t worry too much about your father Draco. He is already a walking dead man, ever since he started serving the scumbag; he put his life into Voldemort’s hands. He can’t be helped, just like me. I can’t be helped. Im his slave, my life is already gone.” Misty stepped away from Draco, and let him off the wall. “New lesson learned today Draco, don’t piss off a half demon days before a full moon.” Misty hissed, crossing her arms and glaring as he rubbed his neck and glared back.
“Get into the class room.” He said and marched up the stares, dragging her along with him. He kicked open a door and they both walked into the room, misty ripping her hand free of his grip as he closed the door and locked it magically.
“What is it you wanted to tell me?” misty asked, sitting on top of a desk, crossing her arms and glaring at him her cat eyes dancing dangerously, waiting to be roused once more.
“My father told me to tell you that his lord expects you to gather as much information as possible, become friends with the little trio-of coarse you already did that-and trick them into a trap to get them into the Forrest.” Draco said silkily.
“Don’t you mean your lord?” misty asked.
“He isn’t my lord, or my future lord.” Draco sneered, but in a softer way. “I’m going to run away after Hogwarts so they cant force me into a death eater. Like you said, I don’t want to give up my life to that scum bag.” Draco said calmer.
“Running away may not be the best idea ever.” Misty told him.
“Oh yeah, you ran away didn’t you?” Draco sneered.
“Shut up or it’s personal.” Misty said, jumping to her feet and pushing past Draco. How ever, he grabbed her wrist and stopped her from making it to the door. “What now dweeb?” she said, highly annoyed.
“From an admirer.” he said handing a letter to her. She rolled her eyes and kicked the door open, nearly kicking it off its hinges. When she reentered the great hall, she sat back down and picked up her fork, continuing her break fast.
“What happened?” asked harry.
“Oh, he wanted to give me a letter from an admirer. And wanted to tell me that my ‘master’ wants me to lure you guys into the Forrest and become your friends.” She said unconcernedly around her food. “Here.” She said handing them the folded letter. Ron grabbed it and was about to open it, when Hermione snatched it from him with a raised eyebrow.
“What? Hey!” Ron said.
“Um, Ron, an admirer’s letter is to who ever it was intended. Meaning a girl in this case, not a boy.” Hermione informed him, and started unfolding it.
“What ever, could you read it to me?” asked Misty. She stopped eating to listen.
“Misty,” started Hermione.
“Meet me at the Quidetch pitch Saturday at 12:00 a.m. I’ll be waiting for you. ~ Secrete admirer” Hermione finished.
“What? I can’t go down their Saturday! Its…”she lowered her voice. “A full moon Saturday!” she whispered.
“Well, eat a big dinner and maybe you won’t eat anyone.” Ron suggested. Misty seemed to think of it for a second.
“Misty! No, you can’t go down there! Someone might get seriously hurt!” Hermione objected.
“Hmmm, your right Hermione. That’s why you three are going to hide in the pitch to stop me from eating anyone. But don’t tell me where you are, because, you know, I might stop you first.” Misty shrugged.
“Cool!” Harry and Ron said at the same time.
“This is way from cool! What would Dumbledore think?” Hermione said worriedly.
“He’d be thinking we’d better get to Divination, because class is about to start.” Harry said standing up.
“Good luck then, hope she doesn’t predict your death.” Hermione said and walked off to her class.
“What? Please, I am good at divination. I bet I could run that class. I got better the good grades in divination at my old school so they said I could qualify for teaching the class too.” Misty told them as they started out of the great hall.
“Well, I hope your good, the fraud has been teaching us crap for 4 years.” Harry told her. Ten minutes later, they were still walking when the bell rang.
“We’re late for class.” Ron said not changing his pace.
“Yeah think we should hurry?” Harry asked.
“Naw. Tell her we were practicing that slow spell on each other for Flitwick’s class or something.” Ron said lazily.
“I can’t believe you guys! Is her class that bad?” Misty said, pushing them to hurry up.
“Yup.” They both said simultaneously. She sighed in frustration and pinched them both in the back. They yelped and started walking faster. A minute or two later, they stopped at a dead end.
“Wow, this class is boring.” Misty said leaning on the wall.
“You haven’t been in the class room yet.” Ron said as harry pulled down a golden ladder.
“Oh.” She said and followed them up. When she entered the room, she noticed it was very hot all of a sudden, and the air smelled slightly like strawberry perfume. They chose a seat next to a closed window with the shades down and sat on the comfy poufs.
“You have finally decided to join my class room? Ten points from Gryfindor,” Misty looked up to see a woman heavily dressed with a lot of jewelry on her wrists and neck. “Today class we will be looking into the crystal ball. One person from each table come up and get as many crystal balls as there are people at your table.” the woman wore glasses that were huge and made her eyes look enormous.
“I’ll go get the balls.” Misty said and got up happily. She walked up to the desk and picked up two balls in one hand, the other ball in the other hand.
“Names misty ma’am, Professor Trelawany I guess?” misty asked.
“That is my name. I can see great things from you Misty Balta, good things.” Said Trelawany, putting her fingers to her temples and closing her eyes.
“Thanks, but I think your wrong.” Misty said apologetically, remembering Voldemort.
“Oh is that so? Some people can’t appreciate good talent. And Miss Balta, in my class, caps are to be taken off.” She said a bit crisply.
“Sorry ma’am, but it’s a condition. If you have a problem with it, speak with the head master.” Misty smiled and went back to the table they were sharing.
“So what do you think of her?” asked Ron as she gave him the crystal ball.
“Well, she’s a fraud all right, that’s for sure. But, I think as long as she has that book of hers…” Misty was saying, but harry broke her off.
“She made the book.” Harry said.
“Well then she’s hopeless. Awe well, there is one in every school.” She said shrugging.
“Now class,” Trelawany broke their conversation. “Look deeply into the crystal ball, and clear your mind of all thoughts. Concentrate.” She instructed, and Misty stood up abruptly.
“Uh, excuse me professor, but may I be of some help?” she said, and with out waiting for an answer, she went on. “Clear your mind of all thoughts, and think of the one thing you want to see. The past, present, or future. What homework you want, or what will happen tomorrow. Then you close your eyes and focus on that thought. Open your eyes and look through the fog.” Misty instructed.
“Miss Balta, this is my class room. When I want your help, I will ask for it.” Trelawany snapped at her. Misty shrugged and sat back down.
“Does it work?” Harry asked.
“Well yes it does. I have a crystal ball in my bag in the girls’ dorm. Try it.” Misty instructed and went back to her own ball. By the end of class, more then 10 students had announced that they had seen something, and when Trelawany asked how, they told her they followed Misty’s instruction. Of course this made her mad, and she said she wanted a 3 foot long essay and what they learned that day.

The week passed simultaneously for everyone, homework was towering, but not half as bad as last year for harry Ron and Hermione. Friday came quickly, and Hermione was fretting about Saturday.
“Just chill Hermione! You guys will be there! If it’s someone who I don’t know, then I wont do anything! But if I attack them, you’ll be there to stupefy me! Just make sure your well hidden!” Misty tried to console.
“I know! But what if something goes wrong?” Hermione said.
“Nothing will go wrong! I’ll eat tones tomorrow; I’ll be to full to eat a whole person!” Misty said.
“Yeah Hermione, besides, we’ll have the marauders map, we’ll know where she is, and if any professors are coming. Plus that and we have an invisibility cloak! Besides, who ever the guy is, I think they shouldn’t get their hopes up to much anyway.” Harry said.

The next morning, Misty stuck true to her word, and ate as much as she could hold, which was a lot. Most people even stared at her in disbelief. Lunch went the same way, and then dinner came.
“Eat as much as possible.” Hermione said, putting more plates of food infront of Misty. An hour before sun down, Misty went to the head table and talked to Dumbledore.
“Full belly professor! I don’t think I’ll even be able to pounce! Two more years of Hogwarts food like this and I wont be able to move!” Misty said happily.
“Good, good. Now you seem happier then when you first got here.” Dumbledore noted.
“Well, the place kind of grows on you, you know? And I wanted to tell you something before I go.” Misty said, getting serious.
“Ah yes, into the back room then shall we?” he said and they went into the room behind the staff table. When he closed the door, all sound of the people out side seemed muffled some how.
“As you were saying?” he asked.
“Well, Draco Malfoy talked to me yesterday. He told me that his father Lucius told him to tell me that lord Voldemort wants me to lure Harry, Ron, and Hermione into the Forrest, but, befriend them first.” Misty said.
“Well, we shall think of something to foil his plan, but you need to get into that Forrest.” Dumbledore said kindly opening the door for her.
“Thanks Professor.” Misty said and walked out of the door. She walked across the great hall and waved at Hermione, Harry, and Ron before exiting the hall. She walked out the great oak doors of Hogwarts onto the grounds, and looked at the sun, which was half way through setting. She shook her head and frowned before walking across the grounds to the edge of the Forrest. She looked at the sun again and saw that it was nearly gone, and rushed into the Forrest.
She ran and noticed night falling. Her breathing was becoming more rapid, and her heart started to burn. She tripped over a root, and fell into a clearing. She lay on the ground and ripped off her hat. She felt a tail beginning to grow, and stripped off her pants, the pain becoming almost unbearable. Her legs were beginning to bend, her back arched, needles prickling her all over her skin it felt like, and she clawed at the ground in a pain stackingly way to stop the burning in her fingers. Fur was begging to grow every where, and she felt her face beginning to trance form. She ran to a tree and scratched at it wildly. And then, it all stopped. As suddenly as it came, it stopped, and she was left clinging to the tree and breathing as if she had raced around the world. She stood up on her wobbly legs and lifted her hands to look at them. They were still human like, but the tips of her fingers where pointed, and sharp. She walked to a small puddle in the clearing and looked into it. She had transformed. Her face was stripped and whiskers adorned it, her ears were twitching and her cat like eyes glowed in the mid-light darkness. She looked at the white T-shirt she was wearing and ripped it off.
“I wont need a shirt if I have no pants.” She said in a silky tone, and threw her shirt into the mess of cloths that were her pants. She hissed at the reflection in the water and looked at her teeth that were sharper then any cats tooth and a bit smaller in size too, not only that, but they were made only and just for meat. She sat on her hunches and stuck out a leg. Her legs were cat like though, in half circle and straight bone. She stretched her foot and watched as long sharp nails inched their way out of her furred toes. She stood up and stretched her paws, arching her back and yawning loudly.
She had transformed.

CHAPTER FOUR
The Meeting with the Unexpected Visitor

Misty suddenly stopped what she was doing and stood still, listening as her ears twitched back and forth to catch the sound. The snapping of a twig was heard again and she turned to her right, smiling softly with her black lips.
“Hello there. And who are you?” She asked Kindly still in that silky soft tone. A baby Unicorn stepped out of the shadows bashfully, its golden coat glinting bright gold silver in the half moon light the Forest gave.
“Don’t be shy, I do not hurt Unicorns, Especially babe’s.” Misty assured, sitting on her hunches to be eye level with the baby. She put her arms on her knees and tilted her head. “Come now, where is your mother and father?” she asked again, and as she spoke she heard louder twigs cracking and the sound of hooves. She jumped up and turned around to face a centaur.
“Do not lay a paw on that babe you half breed!” he said threateningly.
“Ouch, that hurt.” Misty said pained by his accusation. “I do not hurt babes half human. I am merely a visitor to this Forrest. Besides, to hurt a Unicorn, even a baby one, would send you to the evil side. That is not my doing.” Misty said Honestly standing streight once more and letting her paws to her sides in defeat as he aimed his bow.
“You are no visitor to this Forrest. You are an intruder. And intruders must be punished.” He said, drawing a bow and arrow, pointing it at her. His blue coat glinted s he moved forward and she back.
“I told you, I mean no harm!” Misty said again truthfully. “I do not kill unless hungry! I am not hungry! Im bloated from eating that food Hermione kept giving me." Misty frowned as he lowered his weapon.
“What’s this? You are from HogWarts you are?” he said, confused.
“Im Half Demon with more sense then a whole demon.” Misty said, scratching her chest slightly. “I told you, this is only where I transform. I have no where else to go. If I show my face to any of the Faculties, or the teachers of Hogwarts, word would get to the ministry, and then they would kill me. A Demon History states that Demon’s are forbidden to interact with muggles, humans, witches, wizards, and even other magical folk. Like you. To them, I am a blood thirsty killer with out a mind.” She frowned again at the thought. “But even demons have a limit, and killing baby unicorns is one of my limits.” She finished as the baby unicorn stepped next to her leg and looked up at her. “I may look evil and menacing, but no one really knows what I am.” She added as she rubbed the Unicorns head affectionately.
“You Obviously have a good heart. Unicorn’s only trust though’s who are good. I leave you here, half demon. But if any thing happens to that babe, you will be killed.” He said and started walking away.
“Oh don’t worry, I’ll watch after him. She reminds me of my puppy I left in America.” She called after him. He looked back, and walked on.
“Well then, you heard him. Be good and I won’t eat you! I mean, who could resist? Your such a sweet little thing!” Misty teased as the unicorn pranced around her. Thirty minutes later of playing with the babe, Misty finally came to a conclusion.
