Search For A God Of The Deep
Rob Shelley

His black body and thick neck
Rise fourteen times faster than the bubbles
That hang in the mysterious sea
Scream! Scream! Scream! I feel.

            But silent, silent, silent.

My oxygen is fear and my breath is release
The foggy mask clouds my coming death
As the sleek god of deep rises
My end: Coming! Coming! Coming!

            Eyes: closing, closing, closing.

Teeth grit as I ready my pain
Arms tighten as I grab my stomach
Legs curl under as I try to hide them
This is it! This is it! This is it!

            Then bark, bark, bark.

A seal! All it is, is a seal
Whew! A seal, a seal, a crazy seal
But my hunt continues through
The Deep! Deep! Deep!

            For the shark…shark…shark…
