And then when we have problems and those same people we once tried to comfort tries to tell us whats best, we r reminded of what they told us b4 about us not understanding, and we r quick to tell them exactly that.

You Don't Understand

it’s a cold winters day, the ground covered with snow
he’d been missing for days, and now his family members know
she was a five year old girl, who hanged to her mother
she didnt understand that she’d just lost her brother
and as her mom sat and cried, tears streaming down her face
the little girl wanted to know, where is Chase
as her father stood by, and calmly picked her up, sat her on his lap and raised her chin up
“You dont understand, you are too young, your brother is in heaven and we are mourning our son
one day when you get older, you will know the pain we feel, our love for him will go on, and the hurt we have is
real”
Ten years down the road, her parents separate
she doesnt know why they cant just love and not hate
her mother tries to explain, what exactly is going on
her father stands by listening to her mom
“You dont understand, you are too young, me and your dad arent getting along
years being together, have made us grow apart, one day you will know the pain in our hearts”
Five years later the girl is in college, study to be a nurse, filling her head with knowledge
she meets a nice man, and wants to marry him, but her parents are against it, and she just cant win
so she tries to tell them, the way it is, he lives for my love, and i live for his
“You dont understand, i know we are young, but we love each other dearly and our lives have just begun
so we need to be together, forever it may be, maybe it wont last but we will just have to see.”
