Yet Another Day...
Alvin Gladstone
It was this morning when I woke,
began to ponder if life was a joke.
was lost in thoughts in the bed I lay,
Oh god, I thought, here comes another day!
Saw my watch, t'was 9'O Clock,
heck, I said in awe and shock,
with brush in my hand I rushed to shower,
Oh god, I thought, give me more power!
The engine I acceleratored with full throttle,
my thirsty throat wished for water in a bottle,
desperate to reach my office in time,
Oh god, I wished for some soda and lime!
Avoided my boss, phew, and opened my mail,
pressures were high and I couldn�t afford to fail,
work piled up, wished my leg could shake,
Oh god, I said, please give me a break!
"Hey", someone said, "not going home, its already dark?"
peeped through the window to see if someone was trying to lark,
drowned in work, struck to my chair like a glue,
Oh god, didn�t even realize the sky change to black from blue!
Didn�t waste much time, dinner was just bread and butter,
needless to say, my eyes were closing down like a shutter,
thoughts were numb in the bed I lay,
Thank god, I thought, here ends another day!
