Hey Daddy:
It's me your baby I hope you remember.
Were learning how to write in school,
so that is helping me write to you.
I got something to say and here it is-
I really hope this doesn't hurt you
because I swear this is not my intention but-
you broke my heart and you promised you would come home soon.
But its been three years and I have yet to see your face.
I saw the president talking on the news and he said
God bless our boys in Iraq who died late this afternoon.
When I dont get a letter I sit and wonder was it you who went to heaven the other afternoon.
I pray every night for you to just come home.
You said you wouldn't die and you wouldn't make my cry, but I still wonder why.
Why you aint written me in such a long time.
I'm starting to forget you, I forget your smile and your face.
I forget your laugh and your warm embrace.
I miss you daddy
why wont you write to me?
I miss the way grandma would run in the house with a letter saying this one's from your daddy.
I miss you daddy why wont you write to me?
I cant remember the last time I got one.
I even miss all the jokes you would write at the bottom.
They always made me laugh every time that I was sad.
I miss you daddy I been praying really hard but I dont know what to do.
Grandma said pray to Jesus but he wont answer me.
I guess he hasnt been talking to you.
Grandma said close your eyes and you'll see him in your dreams.
I dont want any of that, I want you to come home and visit me.
I miss you daddy why wont you write to me?
Are you lost in a jungle over there?
Or do you just not care that your hurting me everyday of my life?
I miss you daddy I dont have any tears left to cry.
I dont know what to say or do.
I just miss you daddy and as angry as I am.
I still love you so please come home soon.
