Whispered Lies Among Soft Sighs

Whispered lies,
Among soft sighs.
Seems like only yesterday,
I thought forever was going to last.
Sad how it fades away,
It turns to dust, blown into the past.
I remember how it felt so right,
How I opened up and let you come in.
Your caresses through the night,
Linger still sweet, passionate upon my skin.
I cannot pretend, I cannot deny,
Thought I was strong, thought I stood tall.
But you can never see these tears I cry,
Or hear the crash of my heart break as they fall.
Should have known all along,
Should have heard it through whispered lies,
It was always so wrong,
Hidden behind those sweet, soft sighs.
Whispered lies,
