Vinrye Part 5 Taya Sommel
Two years passed and I was with second child when people came crashing through the window of my tower room.
A WereTiger woman and man that said they were there to take me back to the Underground, I nodded with tears in my eyes.
Someone was finally here to save me from Draegon after two years of torture. After he ranted about becoming the emperor
of Isperalda, he took me to his bedchambers and chained me to the bedposts. Everywhere he touched me burned, and I struggled
in his grasp for many minutes, but it did no good. After a while I quit struggling and silently prayed that he would tire of me.
He had plans not only for me though, but also for my womb as well. When I was with my first child he left me alone, not paying
any attention to me while I was pregnant. In a way this pleased me as I didn't have to endure his weight on me and his rough touches
and slimy kisses that made me gag. The Weres said they were Zherley and Sephir, and they showed me tattoos that were similar
to my own and explained my past. I then explained to them all I knew. They were appalled and tried to hurry me into leaving
but I shook my head, "I can't leave my daughter Kestyn here with that monster. I must get her."
They followed me into Kestyn's open nursery. My eyes widen when I saw she was not in her cradle.
The door closed behind us and Draegon stood blocking the door with baby Kestyn in his arms. "Going somewhere, dear Vinrye?"
He asked with a snarl. "Draegon, give me Kestyn, please. She is my life, I would do anything for her." I pleaded with him, tears spilling
over my eyes and down my face. He was now at the window, a deep scowl on his face. "Then die for her Vinrye, as I see you cannot be my empress.
You are too weak. Die for your precious Kestyn and her name's sake." With that, Draegon tossed the baby out the tower window.
I screamed and jumped after my baby, catching her and praying that we would be safe. I awaited the ground, but someone caught me.
I opened my eyes and saw the anger and relief in Zherley's eyes as she hissed, "If you ever do that again,I will let you hit the ground."
I nodded as she set me down. I nuzzled my Kestyn and rubbed my bulging stomach where my unnamed twins rested. I was glad to be out of that prison,
but the war had only just begun. I had a nightmare that Kiniel was still alive, and that he was being held by the council. I awoke to find an orderly
telling me that I had been summoned by the High Council. My dream was no dream, it was a premonition. Of that I was sure as I walked for the first time
into the chambers of the Council, my dream came back to me and I had a sense of Deja Vu as I saw the Council members seated. They wasted no time getting
to business, "Vinrye Vampyr, case number 495975. We have been informed that you know the whereabouts of Shaniel Draegon Vampir, the rogue WereDragon Vampire."
I froze, Draegon was a Were too. I had never known that, and the fact that he was a rare WereDragon was even more shock, and his name was Shaniel. They seemed
to notice my confusion. "What story did Shaniel tell you?" When I related my whole story to this point, they shook their heads.
"Shaniel is a liar. First, Shaniel and Kiniel were brothers, born as WereDragons. Everything up to the Were kid was true. They were thieves and stole from a
powerful vampire that turned them and Miss Vampier did adopt them. Kiniel learned from his mistakes and worked very hard to make it up to the whole of Isperalda.
Shaniel never apologized, but worked hard on his powers. He and Kiniel were not sparring, but fighting the day Shaniel killed the WereSheep. When she saw they
were fighting she tried to stop them, because they were fighting over her. Shaniel didn't notice he was hitting her instead of Kiniel until he saw her lifeless
form underneath him and Kiniel staring at him in horror. He knocked Kiniel unconcious and told us his version of the story. We knew he was lying, but didn't
want him to know we saw the whole thing. We never killed Kiniel, we hid him among us." One of the thirteen members stood up and pulled down his hood. He had
the same electric blue eyes as Drae... Shaniel, but they were warm and not hard. His hair was a short platinum blonde with two long braids at his temples. He
was amazingly gorgeous, more so than Shaniel. I was in awe, and I kneeled, "Kiniel Draegon Vampir, will you assist the Underground in fighting your brother
and his Evil Ones? We desperately need your expertise on him."
Kiniel seemed to be amused at my offer and turned toward the Council, "With the High Council's permission, I shall join Vinrye Vampyr in the Underground."
They nodded their heads in approval, probably thought to learn about the Underground from him after he was finished. Maybe they would, it wouldn't matter
after everything was finished. After this was done I would live in Isperalda with my children and try to live a normal life. My life had never been normal, though.
I had always flirted with disaster, and my childhood was a blur of broken memories of yelling and things breaking. Needless to say it wasn't happy, but I dealt with
it until I was fifteen. Running away was a stupid idea now that I reflect on my memories, but at that time I thought anything was better than going back home. I never
realized how good I had it; a warm bed, a full stomach, and showers every night. My parents might have yelled and thrown things at each other, but never at me. Living
with those homeless families and drug addicts made me understand that I shouldn't have taken for granted the hand I had been dealt.
I was on my way home when Shaniel's followers attacked and assaulted me. I was probably targeted because of my interest in the occult. I liked the supernatural, it
interested me greatly. I dreamed of what it would be like to have such powers and all the things I would do with my own powers. Now that I'm there, my fantasies are
to being human again. The grass is never greener on the other side and now I have to spend eternity seeing the world plagued with war and hunger. Isperalda was no
different than anywhere else, though they sure make it out to be a utopia at the beginning. Maybe it is for some, but I was destined to suffer so I would be strong
enough to save my new home. I was destined to kill the first person I had met as a vampire, and the father of my children. My life really bites, no pun intended. It
was like I was living in one of those vampire novels I always used to read. When this was over, I was going to visit my parents and tell them everything, even if they
don't believe me. They deserve to see their grandchildren. They deserve my apology and love.
