Uncle Marty

My Uncle Marty is a real character, he is.
He used to come visit me and my wife almost every
summer; he'd stay a week, then move on again. He's
a miser; doesnt like spending any of his own money,
{even though his fortune registers in the triple
digits}on a home of his own, so he moves from
place to place like a vagabond, sponging off of
all of his relatives.
Dont get me wrong, he's my uncle, so I didnt mind
him dropping by. It was just the principle of the thing,
you know?
Anyway, the last summer he came to stay with us,
he had left his prosthetic legs back at my Aunt
Ida's place in Vermont, {he lost his legs in a car
accident, when he was drunk}and didnt have his
wheelchair with him, either. When he pulled up in
the cab that day, me and the cabbie had to carry
him in the house, set him on the couch.
Then, about an half an hour after the cabbie
leaves, Uncle marty decides he wants to sit in the
easy chair instead, its closer to the TV set.
That way, he can get a good view of WWF wrestling.
Says he cant see so good from the couch.
Well, I can believe that, because he lost an eye
in the war. So I carry him over to the easy chair,
about breaking my back in the process, cause he's
a chubby devil, he is. After he gets situated, he
says, Jimmy, hows about getting your favorite
Uncle a cold beer?
Well, I know he cant walk in there and get it,
so I say, okay, and fetch him a beer.
Well, he ends up having six or seven beers, so I
knew what was coming next.
He says Jimmy, hows about taking me to the john so
I can take a leak?
Jesus, I thought, help me make it through this
night.
Well, by the time I had taken him to the john, {which
was upstairs, of course}and got him back in the chair,
my wife, Sheila, was home. She was in the kitchen
putting some groceries away. I walk in there, tell
her UNcle marty was there, and she just rolls her
eyes, lets out a big sigh, like shes exasperated
already, because she knew what was coming next.
Uncle Marty yells from the living room, Is that
my little angel? Thats what he calls Sheila, his
little angel. Even though, when shes around him,
she'd like to turn into a little devil, wrap her
hands around his fat neck, choke him to death.
He yells, hey, hoes about fixing me some of that
famous lasagna of yours! The kind with cottage
cheese in the middle?!
So Sheila rolls her eyes at me again, lets out
another sigh. I just kiss her on the cheek, thank
her for putting up with all of this shit, and she
starts boiling the noodles for the lasagna, the
kind with cottage cheese.
Well, about an hour later, we're all sitting
at the table, me and Sheila watching Marty shove
lasagna in his mouth like a bulldozer eats dirt,
and swilling beer like a hillbilly swills moonshine.
He eats like a pig, too, and the sauce from the
lasagna, the kind with cottage cheese, was dripping
down his chin and on to his Hawaian shirt, the one
with big yellow parrots on it.
The parrot's feathers are turning red now, and Marty
looks like a lasagna eating, beer swilling, pig
faced Don Ho.
Me and Sheila are trying to eat, and she glances
over at me and gives me that Norman Bates look,
the one he had in that movie Pyscho, when he was
getting ready to put poison in his mama's tea.
I knew what she was thinking, and I gave a look,
like, well, its too late for that. You should have
thought about that while you adding the cottage
cheese.
After dinner was mercifully over, and Sheila was
washing dishes, what I feared was going to happen
did.
After swilling all that beer and stuffing his
fat face with lasagna, the kind with cottage cheese,
Marty decides he has to take a dump.
Oh Jesus, I thought, rolling MY eyes, now, and I
carry him upstairs to the john.
When we get in there, he says he's gonna get sick,
so I turn him around in the other direction, his
hairy ass in my face, his pants already down.
Well, he's leaning over the toilet, trying to barf,
but nothing's coming out, just a case of dry heeves.
The, suddenly, he cuts a big, loud, crusty, stinking,
nosehair curling fart, right in my face, and thats
when I lost it.
I drop him. Thats right; I drop him.
His fat face is right over the bowl, his big
flabby arms wrapped around the sides.
He says, Jesus, Jimmy, what in the hell are you
doing?
I say, marty, Im not your buddy, for one thing,
Im just a man who's unfortunate enough to be
related to you. Second of all, Im sick of your
bullshit. You're nothing but a money grubbing,
inconsiderate bum, and you can kiss my ass.
Then he says, Jimmy?
I say, Yeah, what is it, pig face?
He says, Fuck you, you little worm.
Thats when I went ballistic.
I reached over his back with my hands, and start
choking him to death.
He's puking now, and Im laughing like a maniacal
hyena, my eyes as wide as golfballs, and his face
starts turning blue, his eyes bulging from their
sockets like hard boiled eggs.
The, suddenly, I get this idea.
My toilet is one of those ancient models, has a
big, deep bowl, big enough to swallow an alligator.
So, I figure if I can shove his rotten ass down
in there far enough, I can flush him right down
the pipes.
So I start pushing his head down in there, and
he's choking on puke water, making gurgling sounds
and Im still laughing like a maniac. I keep pushing,
pushing....
And I'll be damned if it wasnt working, the harder
I pushed, the farther down he went.
After about three minutes of hard labor, the stumps
of his legs were the only thing visible, so I stand
up and pull the chain, WHOOSH!! the rest of him
goes down in a big swirl of pukey water, and Im
dancing around the john like a drunken Gene Kelly,
singing, dancing, acting as crazy as a shithouse
rat with rabies.
Well, after it was over, I go downstairs and
tell Sheila, and she starts dancing around and
acting nuts, too.
We took his suitcases and shaving kit, dumped
them out back in the dumpster, then sat down on
the couch for a nice, relaxing evening alone,
sipping wine, celebrating our new found freedom.
After a few glasses of wine, Sheila says she has
to go tinkle, and I tell her, look out, Marty
might get ya, and she just laughs, and toddles
off upstairs.
Several minutes later, she appears in the living
room doorway, a funny look on her face, and she's
rubbing her butt like it's sore.
I ask her whats wrong, and she says your Uncle
Marty just bit me on the ass when I was sitting
on the toilet.
That Uncle marty...he's a real character,
he is.
