Uncle D Katherine Smith
The fiery depths of hell couldn't break your soul, dad held your hand when you didn't see the light, i secretely called you just to say hello, but there was no answer on wensday night. Times were rough, you slowly started to break, you never showed me once how you were truly feeling. I sat back and watched you slip, your faith in God was no more, you loved the devil assuming he'd save your soul, he gave you nothing and took my life away from me, so come and get some more. Your mental illness got progressively worse, you've been tortured and battered your whole life, but attempted to act normal,a fallen angel in the need God but found no one, you chose to be alone. Sitting outside thursday morning, packing up all my belongings, preparing to move once again, then cycle of leaving then settling down, the cycle that never seems to end. A call from North Carolina, I thought it was you, but on the other line was a detective saying how someone found you. Picking berries in the nearby woods, a corpse was found charcol and burned. The can of gasoline not too far in the distance, I broke down and thought I was going crazy. Two hours of solid crying, pounding my fists into the floor, I swear to God I'll never think about killing myself any more. Detecives ruled out the case of foul play when they stumbled into your apartment and saw how you worhsipped satan. A nearby note left on your counter my father's address, name, and number, to in case of an emergency, you have no idea how much you mean to me. I ran to your photos and placed one on the mantle, grabbed a lighter, and lit an incense in your memory. Prayed to God that he'd save your soul, I never felt so alone. I spoke to you on Tuesday night, and asked how you were doing, I'm hanging in there was all you said, if that's so true how come you're dead? I never saw this coming, but may you die with honor. for if it wasn't God you loved and only the devil, at least you died with dignity. I feel like such a coward for cutting myself, I'd never have the cuts to pour gas on myself, and light the flame just as you and burn eternally feeling the flames eat at your flesh. Now I mourn at the thought of you, lost of appetite, constant aches, do you realize now someone did love you? The last words to my father were, " I'll be waiting for your phone call Garry" and you two never spoke again. I miss you more than words can explain, ten days without you makes me wonder if I'll ever smile again. You always said " Fire I was created and fire I shall return" never in a million years could I have contemplated you truly meant it, you truly meant it.
