Unbridled Fury: The Subconscious
R Bennett Okerstrom

Locked inside the world of depression lies the truest force of psychological dismay. The sudden urge to thrust forward into danger uncovers a realm previously unknown to one's very own perception. A feeling so intense engulfs the psyche and reaches out across the plane until it touches the farthest extremities causing a cool numbness not so unlike that of the early stages of frostbite. The numbness spreads, taking with it all feeling of reality. Soon the journey into deep subconscious thought amasses such anxiety that it can no longer be contained. The devious mind plots a treacherous path of self-destruction, the destruction of the very mindset that ensures ones sanity. For insanity is on the threshold. The deranged mind laughs at the concept of coexistence with rational thought and fills each neuron with the unsound envisages of immoral acts of delusion. Denial is foolish. Once subjected to the roots of evil, one becomes ensnared in those very roots, unable to break free from their suffocating grasp. Cognition and judgment erode until no trace of rationality remains, leaving behind nothing but an unethical sense of horror. A tirade of voices enter one's thoughts, bellowing the words of thousands of victims of the very same fate. Death by depression. The unfortunate of the past warn of certain evils that are so obscure that not even those capable of reason can uncover them. They wait, concealed in the clouded world of consciousness until they launch their wicked, pernicious ploy to envelop not only the mind, but also the entire body. Once the annexation of the mind is complete, the remainder of the body is subject to manipulation and the once placid state becomes one of mass confusion. Only the roots of evil are organized. They have planted their seed of destruction and it has sprouted into a full-fledged monster capable of anything that is asked of it. The creature that was once simply a victim of depression is no longer recognizable. What stands before the mirror is merely a mold of that being. What stands before the mirror is the essence of evil. A slave, prepared to do the bidding of the ultimate master -- the subconscious.
