Troubles With Familiarity Bruce Anthony Huston
Waking up from the foghorn-style bell
tourists arrive to a house of rapists
and "mentally disturbed" strikes down
their chests.
Five long years of champions crowned;
you were never on the team
but lied about punching a guy in the windpipe.
Same trees that stood for years
now come crashing to the ground
letting you know you don't belong anymore.
Your children's children wonder where you lived.
Driving up 101 you see the
house of rapists and thieves has expanded
now they live next door to your brother.
