The Sack Race Colin Baker
Today's the day, we're in a line,
All bathing in the warm sunshine,
That time of year, the school sports day,
I'm entered in the class sack race.
Our teacher cries out "ON YOUR MARKS",
My heart a-thumping, hand on sack,
But Lucy sets off way to soon,
And tangles with the egg and spoon.
Our teacher yells "GET BACK IN LINE !",
And starts us all a second time,
Now hands gripped tightly to my sack,
I start to hop, and so does Jack.
Along with Mick, Kate, Ruth and Zack,
Lance, me and Lucy at the back,
I've now just one thing on my mind,
To be the first to cross the line.
But Jack is hopping super quick,
Along with Lance and Zack and Mick,
Like four bull frogs all hopping mad,
They're boing boing boinging in their bags.
Now Lance and Zack and Mick and Jack,
Are happily bouncing down the track,
But wait, CRASH ! WALLOP ! Jack and Mick,
Have formed a heap in front of Dick.
Now Dick is tumbling, so is Kate,
Like skittles in a summer fete,
So bouncing like a pogo stick,
I boing and bounce right over Mick.
Now in the lead, I've line in sight,
I bounce and hop with all my might,
Then wearing broad grin on my face,
Cry out "I'VE WON MY FIRST SACK RACE".
