The Reaches Of Time

I cannot believe how fast time passes by,
Its nature is almost too surreal to fully comprehend,
Looking at the pictures that are left behind as distant memories buried in days long gone,
Everyone is formed to feel significant or important, but in reality this meaning takes on a much different form,
Everyday someone dies, everyday someone is born,
The cycle repeats, over and over again,
Though time keeps flowing, like an unstoppable flood that seems to drown everything in its path,
Maybe it is all up to us, to leave something behind, to make a difference,
Sure, One can go through the motions of life and gain a sense of self security, grow old, and only be known to those closest to them for the time being,
Or one can go the other route, where only a few determined and brave men ever ventured,
To leave behind something that humanity may take with it, even past the days of our existence,
And just maybe, someone will look at our name in the distant future, and catch a quick glimpse into the past,
Even if this little piece of achievement will not be remembered but lost in time, it is still something very beautiful,
We do not know you many breathes we have left, so it is up to us to take advantage of this glorious opportunity we are given, and try to make this world a better place,
Through art, love, invention or any other way of leaving a mark in the minimal period which we are here,
Since making a difference, or even trying to, can extend the reaches of time further than our biological bodies will allow,
The development and maturity of the human race depends on such actions, it is when one succombs to ordinariness or security where this gift of life begins to disseapear into the forgotten abyss of time itself, parishing forever...
