The Little Christmas Tree
Cari Graham

Hey everyone! I got the tree! shouted Jimmy, as he pulled the saddest looking tree through the door into the living room. He placed the little thing in the center of the room and beamed with pride. The little tree was short, with missing branches and a bent top. What a sad little tree.
Jimmy, we wanted a real tree, not something you picked out of a dumpster. Mary moaned.
Awe, come on it will look good with some trim he replied.
They all put to work trying their best to make the little tree look good. Jimmy hung the lights. Mary put on some sparkly garland. Johnny hung each little ornament with care. Mom stepped up and placed a special angel on the top.
See Jimmy exclaimed, It really does look great now!
The little tree did look a lot better, but the more they looked at it the more they thought it still looked a little sad.
Maybe when dad gets home, he will have an idea how to make it look a little happier suggested Mary.
Later that evening, dad stood studying the tree.
I know just what the tree needs!
He walked over to the tree gathering them all into his arms as he went. As they hugged and huddled the tree came to life.
One small voice started to sing, joined by another and another until the room filled with music.
You see, all the little tree really needed is a family
