Thank You Great Britain
Green Emerald
We came here a long time ago with work permits
When this country was falling to bits
We came to work and do the jobs brits couldn’t do
When we came we didn’t know who was who
We were welcomed in so many ways
But still there were dark days
We worked to our bones
And built our homes
Some of us came as slaves
Stripped off our language
Some of us smuggled in with the waves
Some of us had no choice
Generations from now, families have grown
We envy the stolen jewels on the Queen’s crown
We all fight for our rights
Different races break into fights
We got the chance to get away and build homes
Have british born families, Earn a living
And escaped our straw huts and domes
If it wasn’t for Britain excepting us, we’d be rotting
Back home, in third world countries, starving!
Now we take advantage of benefits and free medical care
Yet to slag off Britain we still live to dare
Some have built several homes here and one back in their country
No longer will their family starve of poverty
As they send back home their British wages
For our mentality to change it will take ages
How do you dare to not appreciate Britain
Britain gave our ancestors a new life
A New Beginning.
So thank you Britain
