Tear Me Down
Katherine Smith

Build me up
Only to break me down
I keep running in your direction
Searching for answers
That will never come.

My teardrops fell like shattered glass
Mascara runs until my eyes bleed black
Struggling to take each and every breath
As you suffocate me with your lies
Say the most hurtful things that make me question the quality of my Life

Break me down, please break me down
Before I lose what little sanity I have left
Replaying these conversations in my head
I’m beginning to lose it again

Screaming in a pitch-black room
Can anyone hear me?
The sound of my thoughts are driving me crazy
Say you hate me
Say you love me
Wish death on me
Just don’t leave me.

I was always your brick house
The foundation beneath our creation
You tear me down when the bottom gives
Only to replace me with some cheap imitation
I feel so out of touch with who I am

Someone like you who inflicts pain
Someone materialistic
Some bastard who feeds off vulnerably
Knows the true meaning of happiness again.

Reprieve after reprieve
When will this merry-go-round stop?
When will it be my turn to laugh
Will I ever smile
Will I know contentment
Or will you prosper and see my pain as enjoyment?

Oh how you’ve caused me to lose such faith in the term Karma
The good die young, receive impossible obstacles
While the evil thrive and dance with Devil
Riding the line in between
Not for the Good of Evil
I just hope this is some fucked dream
And that right now isn’t Hell.
