Single Mother
Francine Lofton

Mama looked up with tear filled eyes
The pain of years dimming the light inside.
But baby girl, she cried you turned out fine
My time has come you must carry on
I didnt have the strength to do right
Dealt a single mothers life
Journeys takes you down many paths.
Turns not prepared to make
Signs read Left I went right, brought so much misery
But baby girl you turned out fine
My time has come you must carry on
I didnt have the strength to do right
Dealt a single mothers life
Daughters of my own
Signs said left I went right, brought so much misery
Dealt the single mothers life
Take my hand well carry on
Ill find the strength to make it right
Dealt a single mothers life
