Send It Away Annacat
Staring at the ceiling in the darkness
Remembering the guest that was today
One more thing to dispose of in my diary
Technicolor dreams now are all grey
Write it down on paper put a stamp on it and send it away
I didn’t welcome it and never invited it to stay
When you read my diary of disdain consuming me
That makes you want to look the other way
Just put a stamp on it and send it away
As we hurry on this stampede to nowhere
And we worry we’ll be late when we get there
So we can sleep under a cold stone forever
Our grand reward for this futile endeavor
Write it down on paper put a stamp on it and send it away
I didn’t welcome it and never invited it to stay
When you read my diary of disdain consuming me
That makes you want to look the other way
Just put a stamp on it and send it away
I stopped turning the lights up bright
I gave up waging the war of insight
I struggled to find simple things that matter
I descended into my own personal disaster
Have you ever felt powerless?
As your hands of time tick by
Control you think you possess
Cannot change the reasons why
When your life becomes a random mess
You can fight back all you like
But there are issues you can’t address
Except with this guitar and microphone
Write it down on paper put a stamp on it and send it away
I didn’t welcome it and never invited it to stay
When you read my diary of disdain consuming me
That makes you want to look the other way
Just put a stamp on it and send it away
I don’t like the sound of my voice explaining
And I can’t drown out this life of complaining
So I write these failures down every day
Put a stamp on it and send them away
