Self Incarceration
Erasmus Flynt

Ive saturated my mind with the fear that is tomorrow
The unknown holds me grimly within its unyielding fist and
Shakes me with the terror that I own in this enigma called life

I plead for the freedom that only I can afford myself, so
Acknowledging that it comes from within, and that I alone hold the power
Of release that I willingly deprive myself of, through fear of freedom

What am I to do if I will not allow me the serenity of my very own soul
As it screams its desire to excite my being, my life and for me
To recognise that only I myself, hold the true meaning to my own existence

So still I will remain, cowering in the bowels of earthly tribulation and
Secure in the knowledge that darkness and fear are as old friends
Condoling each other in their personal hell, fashioned by blinkered existence
