Curious
is today going to be the day
her memory will fade away
if not, perhaps it will be tomorrow
somehow i sort of doubt it
it still seems a bit too fresh
i really have to get out of this mess
hate this running out of options
can’t go back and can’t move on
kind of stuck here like a broken record
playing the same damn tired old song
too worn out to keep pretending
this thing could have a happy ending
might as well take my lumps
all in one great big bunch
after all, it’s not even real
it’s just the way that i feel
now if my heart will pay attention
my mind already knows the score
i’d be free of the images that haunt me
and shake myself free from this revolving door
