What we all expected.
In fact,
It was quite abrupt.
Of all the things
It could have been.
This one,
It did disrupt.
We were not ready
For this to happen.
We were not
Even close.
But you knew, Dad
That you weren�t right.
From the day
It first arose.
I felt that you had
Given up
Long before the day,
But tried and tried
With all my might -
For Trent you had to stay.
But in the end
I understand
Why you ignored the signs.
So you could
Reunite with Mom
And soar above the pines.
Goodbye Dad.
I love you.
