DESCRIPTION
Another "college essay". These things are starting to tick me off. Anyway, I decided to go a different route and tried a philosophical angle, which I've never really done before. So if you start getting nauseous and dizzy, put your head between your knees. Any comments are welcome as always.

Perfection
Michael Hunter

My mind is extremely active. Sometimes I think that its trying to kill me because of all the different things that it is trying to do at the same time. Lately my brain has started going philosophical on me. It is always asking me questions like why do we exist?, a very trite question that Im sure has been answered by pretty much every philosopher in existence. I try to respond but every time I propose an answer I know that in truth I am simply tossing out ideas that I think are deep or profound. And while I pat myself on the back, in the back of my mind I cant help but wonder what the heck the real answer is.
Then it occurred to me that there couldnt possibly be any single real answer, at least according to my perception of reality. I see reality as nothing more than the combined perceptions of individual entities. Therefore, everyone should have their own definition, their own purpose in life. I have decided that my purpose is to become perfect. Its not a matter of arrogance or egocentrism, I view myself as a most humble and grateful member of the human species. As such, I would like to test the limits of this body in every way I possibly can. The only limitations I have are the ones I have set for myself, and these can be stretched and broken. I dont care if people say that I cant do it, everything is relative to our perception of the world around us. If I wish to do something, I can do it. Its only a matter of forming the right state of mind, and being able to accept anything and everything as being possible.
So this is my grand science project. This is my response to all the people who ever told me that I couldnt do something. I very deeply believe that no one is born stupid or intelligent, good or evil, strong or weak. We are all equal from the beginning, it is how we elect to evolve ourselves that makes us so different. And it is this capacity to evolve, to change and adapt that truly makes the human species so powerful. It isnt our intelligence, our creativity, or our bodies that makes us special. The fact that we can alter these traits at will is what creates this incredible potential. Everything boils down to sheer willpower, and whether or not we have the strength to perceive things as they are, or as we wish to perceive them. I believe that I can become perfect, not because I think it is feasible, but because I desire it.

"We aren't all born equal...a baby born to a middle-classed family in Michigan stands a much better chance than a baby in Tepi, Uganda. A good essay, nonetheless." -- Kevin, Toronto, ON, Canada.

"You're right, Kevin from Toronto. So I suggest you become very successful so you can go to Uganda and give your money to as many as you can so that they will have a chance to become more equal to the rest of us. Young man, you are a typical liberal dipshit who will go through your entire life trying to take away rich people's money and wealth and redistribute it to others, including yourself. " -- Richard.
