On Orcas Island
John Karl

And then we come back around and realize that money isnt everything

So do you guys live here now? the waitress from the Starburg Caf asked us after wed shown ourselves two or three times at the lonely island restaurant accustomed to natives with a vacationer or two for laughs.

No, were leaving tomorrow, I would say with confidence that didnt require a mission statement. Sure must be nice to be a native here, I would think and then I would: think not. For if this is what the retreat meant to the natives then I have not found my place and more ostensibly, theyre in the wrong place. Lets seeHey, I live here!!!, Please come and shop at my store, buy my authentic jewelry, or eat at my fashionable restaurant but only if you are here for a day or two Wow, that seems extreme this content sucks! Youre nothing more than a bleeding yuppie trying to ruin a good thing for everyone else. Right? right???, I dont think so.

This island is a commercial operation. If you do not like the way the businesses do business then I suggest that you find a better way to relax. Fine, the author may find dubious conduct but it may be nothing more than the norm for the general attendance. Most will park their camper out front and could care less if the clams are squeamish in their holes. Crab buckets are $17.00 and there is no guarantee youll catch anything youll want to eat. Of course, it doesnt matter anyway, since the government is regulating your activity. Is this 2004????.
