Not Again
Curious
i thought the worst was over
then suddenly she reappeared
like a summer storm
came up without warning
skies that at last seemed blue
took on a darker hue
ominous clouds of the past
her spell again was cast
memories i thought had vanished
instead had been lying in wait
ready to rise and engulf me
another cruel hand dealt by fate
she doesn’t really want me
not the way i’d like it to be
no, more like an unprized possession
that really has no use
but don’t want to let go
you just never know
keep it because you can
it’s tempting, believe me it is
get back on that merry-go-round
keep thinking this time it’ll be better
you’ll win her heart for sure
but reality tells you
forget it buddy
won’t be any different than it was before
