I am an eighth class student in ST. Wilfried's Comprehensive School, Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Video games is my favourite hobby and and I think I am good at my studies also. 'Lost World' is my maiden attempt.

Lost World

It was the middle of October 2001.
Our year head decided to take our class to a science museum. She told us to bring some money and packed lunch and a bottle of soft drink. Well, I took about �25 and some sandwiches. Finally it was the day of the excursion. Stefan and me were partners for the trip. Well, he is also my English partner in my class.
We went by an air-conditioned bus and there were lot of children in that bus. We started at 10 O� clock and reached the museum by 11 O� clock. The school provided the tickets. First we decided to go to the dinosaur excavation park. There were many dinosaurs excavated. One of them was excavated in the year of 1980. It was quiet old. Almost all the bones were mutilated and it looked as if it was going to fall any moment. After that it was time for our lunch. All of my friends bought something with their money but I didn�t. I saved it for myself. Then when we were about to go to some other place in the museum I saw a time machine. I told Stefan that him and me would try sneak out and go to the time machine. He said it was a good idea and we did as we planned. We both sneaked out of our group and went to the time machine.
We saw the warning, which said �Keep out of DANGER!� It also warned the children against the entry into the premises.
After confirming that no one was there I entered the premises. Stefan said that it was not a good plan for us to go inside the time machine. But I slowly crossed the caution line with Stefan silently following me.
I was scared to approach the door handle initially and felt okay after taking a deep breath. I told Stefan to join me. He was really scared. But I opened the door and just then a museum guard came to check the time machine. Then we suddenly jumped into it and without my knowledge my foot pushed a button and slowly we started our journey. First we saw something from a long distance. Something flying. Then suddenly Stefan shouted �the years! It was actually the years we were going back. It stopped at a particular time. It was written the times of dinosaurs!
I didn�t understand and by the time I realized, Stefan yelled that we went into the past. Then we got down the time machine. We saw huge trees. We walked for certain distance. We saw two man-eating dinosaurs fighting over food. We ran away from there. Everywhere we both went there were at least two dinosaurs fighting over food. But in one place it was different. There was a female who was about to give birth. We saw it laying an egg - a huge egg weighing up to � a ton. It started raining and we needed shelter and so we ran back to the time machine.
The second day of the Jurassic park - we were roaming in the woods and suddenly the ground started shaking. Then we saw back and saw a huge dinosaur was chasing us. We ran for our lives and lost the dinosaur. It was no ordinary dinosaur. It was a man-eating dinosaur. Suddenly it started raining heavily and a flash of lighting struck a tree. It caught fire and started spreading all over the park. In that light of fire we saw our time machine. We ran towards it and while getting onto it now Stefan�s leg pushed a button. We both were safe inside the time machine leaving dinosaurs far behind. Stefan said that he would like to enter Jesus Christ�s era. As he said that the time machine stopped in the era of Christ.
We got down from the machine. We saw a town full of people. They were quite happy and were also cheerful. I wanted to buy something for my good. A boy was selling candles to light inside the church. I bought them. They costs about �2. I told Stefan we had no time. So we had to go back to the time machine. We wanted to go back to original time but Stefan pressed the wrong time. So our third journey began.
Now we went to the future. The time was 2049. When we got down the time machine our skin started burning. We didn�t know the reason why our skins were burning like that. A guide came to us and gave us two suits to wear. He told us to wear and then talk. We immediately wore them and asked him who was he? He told his name as Thomas. He told us that if we don�t wear this suit we would burn our skin due to sun radiation. By the time our ozone was all gone and that is why we burn our skin. Then he took us to a big lab .he showed us all the places in that huge lab. It was also a guesthouse cum lab. Then he showed us our rooms and told us to live there until we go back.
We stayed there for a certain period of time. Then I started remembering the trip of the museum and my parents. Then I went to Stefan and told him to pack his things, which we got as gifts from Thomas to go back to the real time. He said he too wanted to go back. We then told Thomas that we are going and told him thanks for his assistance. Then he took us to our time
machine and waved us goodbye. Then we both mentioned the time machine to take us back to the real time and pressed the button. Then we went back to the museum on time and joined the rest of our group. Then my friend asked me how was the museum trip. I told it was great.
Then we went back to school where my parents came to pick me up. I told my mother that I felt like I hadn�t seen my mother for a long time. When we were having our dinner I told them about my trip to different places and my parents were amazed and cautioned me to be with the group in future trips and such a mischief.
