Hi!!! My name is Matthew Rose. My home is a huge palm tree in the middle of the prettiest, most most wonderful jungle in Africa. My short, straight, blonde hair has two curls at the bottom. I’m fairly tall and skinny. I’m eight years old, and I have two sisters. One is called Lorela Rose, who is seven years old. Her long, brown hair smells like roses in the camp...!! She is very tall and skinny. My other sister is called Ducela Rose, who is seven years old. She has long, curly brown hair. She is kind of short and chubby... We all think grass, worms, dirt, and raw animals are delicious!! This story is how my family and I learned how to be normal to save our jungle It all started at lunch time. We were having worms. After lunch, we decided to go for a nice long stroll. On the way we saw a sign. It said: “On June 30th, 1994, The Town Council has decided to bulldoze down the jungle to build homes for people “ Signed: (The Mayor of the council)
“What!!!??? They can’t do that to our jungle. I wish there was some way we could stop them” Lorela exclaimed. I read on.....
Nothing will stop us!!!....
“What are we going to do?” shouted Ducela disappointedly. “They are going to bulldoze our home!!” Lorela yelled. We started to think and came up with so many ideas. At last my family and I decided that if we could learn to be civilized people, we could go into the Town Council and try to convince them that the jungle is home of many living things. So this is what we did: First, we decided to start eating like educated people, so for breakfast we had eggs that we had caught from an ostrich that we saw nearby. “It is horrible!!” Ducela Stammered. Then for lunch we had lettuce sandwiches. “At least it is better than breakfast” Lorela whispered. But dinner was the best because we had duck!!... “It was fantastic!!” We all shouted. We had already started to eat like people, now we had to dress like people. That was much harder because we had to make the clothes. That meant we had to learn to knit. First, we got some small hard sticks for the the needles, then we got wool from the sheep we had. It took us a while to adjust because we were not used to the clothes. Now that we had learned to eat and dress like civilized persons, we had to walk like people because at the moment we walked like monkeys!!! The next day we started to practice, standing up straight and taking one step at a time. It took us a while, but we finally learned. “Now we are ready to go to the town council!!” I declared. So the next day we went into town and straight to the Town Council Office. “Why are you going to tare down the jungle?” We all shouted. “Who are you?” asked the Mayor. “That is not the problem now!!!!!” said Lorela “We’re tarring down the jungle because we need to built more houses for the people” the Mayor replied. “But the jungle is home for many animals and plants..” said Ducela. “So, they can go to another jungle” answered the Mayor. “Why don’t you move the houses somewhere else?” I said. “Security, get those Indians out of here!!” screamed the Mayor rudely. The three kids left to the Police Office, and told the officer everything that happened. The officer got really mad, and asked the kids to guide him to the Town Council Office, where the members of the council were arrested for placing a sign without permission of the Police Office.
We were jumping of joy, with a very big smile in our faces from ear to ear and our heads high in the air, knowing that the jungle would never be bothered again.....
