I Will Remember Not To Forget
Jayme Lynne Gloria

void and numb
and my words, they dont move you
anymore
once.... lovers we were
you were a best friend
a confidant, a soul mate, my joy.

you always walked a step behind
you've seen my shattered dreams
rejoiced in my smallest achievement
and in return, you wanted nothing back
but my presence alone
you said
i was the moon, the sun
and the brightest star above
cause you thought of me
as your own universe.

i was selfish, this i know
i put myself upon a pedestal before
anyone else (including you)
and i regret for not realizing
that you were the most important
person in my life
till that bitter moment you
slowly slipped away into the night

it's over and done now...
yet I love you still, so very much...
damn... it hurts like no other pain
in this world.

i despise looking back
for letting a golden chance
to pass me by
now time has lost its path
and it led me to the darkest place
where i could cry forever.

my hands can no longer touch you
for you seemed so far away
days without you is my deepest
anguish
it cuts like a knife
ripping my heart...
tearing me apart
pushing me to the edge
where i am about to lose my faith in everything
i used to believe in.

happiness that once ruled my life
became the spear that's making me bleed
as i lie here...inch by inch
night after night...sadness is quietly
stealing my sanity.

but i need to survive
because i never wanted to miss, if ever,
there'll be another chance
without the memory of us
i would have lost my strength to go on
your right place is in my heart
and i swear
you will keep me alive
i'll continue to breathe because
of your face, your smile, your voice
and all the things you are
i will perpetually cherish you
like how my eyes cherish the
birth of a magnificent dawn.

with each breath i take...
i will remember not to forget
the beauty of your soul
and how you used to love me
you are my inspiration
and forever you will be....

a million thanks to you.
