ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I love reading my old stuff. It shows me how bad I really was. So I culled a little, getting rid of the truly terrible stuff, and leaving some of the semi-terrible stuff for laughs.

I've been published in a poetry book (The Nightingale). Oher then that I have no real 'accomplishment' when it comes to writing. I attempt to be honest in my work, drawing very rarely from my experience (I have a drama free and relatively boring life) and instead drawing on imagination and my family and friends.

I write better when I'm in a depressed mood. So that's why at the moment I rarely write. that and it doesn't matter if I write or not.

How Funny It Is To Lose Someone.
Chloe L Batey

How funny it is to lose someone,
Someone that means so much to us,
To know that they’re gone…
But not really accepting it…

How absurd it is to call them,
Not realising that they won’t pick up,
Not until the phone rings out do you remember,
Bringing on a thousand and one emotions.

But to lose that someone is the hardest thing to do,
Not remembering to do things,
Buying things only they liked,
Figuring out why they don’t return calls or emails…

Trying to answer the questions that enter the brain,
Why? Why now? Why them? Why?
Trying to determine it’s not just a bad dream,
Trying to fully accept the fact that they’re gone.

How funny it is to lose someone,
Someone that means so much to us,
To know that they’re gone,
But not really accepting….

How funny…
But it’s not. Not really.
