How a young teenager avoided a Pervert

It was the cold winter months, and the long wait at the bus stops to get home from a busy
Office life. As usual, armed with an umbrella, Jean walked to the bus stop around the back of the Office blocks. Jean had to get off as she did for the past 6 years to catch another bus to get home. It was here that she used to go in a little sweet shop, often to get change for the bus. She had never ever for a moment ever thought to look at the shopkeeper and his wife who often served there. Anyway, that particular evening, it was pelting with rain, Jean went into the sweet shop and the owner started to talk to her as if he had known her for years. He was a middle aged bold man in his 40's.

"I am closing the shop, would you like a lift home" He asked out of the blue.

"No, it's alright; my bus should be here shortly". Jean replied wondering as to why he was asking her out of the blue.

He insisted that he was going that way and that he would drop her off to the nearest
Bus stop that she would normally get off.

He knew where she was getting off. He told her that he used to have a shop there and that he used to watch Jean get on and off the bus from there. His car was parked just outside his shop and he quickly opened the front door to let her in.

Jean got in because she thought the road was just a straight main road and that he would drop her off where he said he would BUT he carried on and said that he had to go somewhere to pick something up. It was still pouring with rain outside and she knew that her mother would be waiting at home for her and that she would be very worried. He drove on and on. Jean was now getting very worried. Than he started to read out his personal problems to her that he did not get on with his wife. How could Jean solve his personal problems? It was his own personal complicated mess and she was just a carefree teenager. She looked out of the window it was very dark and she just wanted to open the door and run out. She just did not know where she was. Suddenly he stopped the car and got hold of Jean’s hand as if to read it. He started reading
It as if he was a fortune teller! Jean realized that she was trapped with a pervert. She tried to open the door and it was locked.

"Open the door, l want to get out", she demanded with panic and tried to stay calm.

It was not working, she had to play clever.

"Look l will meet you tomorrow, as l has a doctor's appointment". She said calmly.

It worked!

"I'll meet you at the bus stop near your workplace. What time are you finishing tomorrow", he asked. As he started his car again.

“Five thirty”. Replied Jean with relief as he calmly drove back to the main road and dropped her off where he should have in the first place.

Jean opened the door at last the fresh air hit her face to calm her down.

“Don’t forget, I’ll wait for you after work”. He called out.

“Ok, see you tomorrow”. She shouted and just wanted to run as fast as she could but
“No” she told herself “Walk calmly”.

It was a nightmare experience. This pervert had been spying on her for four year as she got on and off the bus going to work.

The next day, Jean told her work mates about him just in case she came across him again. She was going to avoid going to his shop from now on.

She was dreading the moment it was time to go home and got to the usual bus stop were a bus was already waiting. "Thank God", she thought to herself. She sat at the back seat when she saw a car directly behind the bus. It was him and he was hooting for her to get off the bus to join him in his car. A few ladies were sitting next to Jean. Jean looked at him and poked two fingers at him as if to tell him to Neff Off. Her heart was beating very fast and she was panicking with it. At last the bus decided to move and he decided to follow it. She got of the bus and just made sure she walked some of the
people that also got off the same bus.

Thank God that was the last she had seen of him of him - he got the message loud and clear. An ugly middle aged Pervert old enough to be ones father. Yuk!

"This sounds like a true story, did this really happen to you? I know you mean well, but I don't think your giving out a good message. There is no way in this world I would have got in this man's car not matter if it was rain or storm. You took that risk that could have cost you your life. No matter how clever you think you were, at the end he could have had the last laugh. What if he didn't believe you that you were going to see him tomorrow, he could have had his way with you and left you to rot in the rain. What would you have done? You would have been too shamed and scared to tell anyone and he would have got away with it scot free. No way should you encourage people to think clever, it's best to be safe than sorry. So just walk away!" -- Angela.
"Dear Angela, Thanks for reading. A lot of teenagers are not aware of dangers out there, no matter what their parents tell them. In my story thinking clever was the only alternative it is better than anything that the charactor had on his mind. I think that having one above the crafty Pevert is better than anything should one find themselves in this situation. In my story getting in the car (it still happen to this day) no matter how much you tell youngester that it is wrong. I agree with you regarding "shamed and scared to tell anyone" There are lots and lots of people who are abused and are shamed to tell anyone and it ruins their lives. My story is not to encourange youngesters to do this - things like this kind of situation do happen even today. Perhaps l could have wrote about one getting into the car and fully abused or murdered!. If one did think it was safe to get in a car the only alternative would be to think clever. Please don't think that via writing this story that l am encouraging people to think clever. " -- Amy, Hayes, UK.
"The chick in this story got lucky. If this guy has been stalking her he wouldn't have waited. He would have had his way right then and there. And he wouldn't have stopped after she got on the bus, he would have kept harassing her find out where she lives perhaps and so many other horrible things. It was a good story just needs to be a little more realistic." -- Jordan.
"Dear Jordan, thanks for reading and your comments - my story is also to show the readers that this man did not get on with his wife hence the reason as to why he behaved in such a way, his attention turns to a young girl - trying to escape from his personal problems? - Such behaviour makes one think about the thing that Jack the Ripper did. I wish l was a good writter to make my story realistic - any how, I'am glad you enjoyed it." -- Amy, Hayes, Middlesex.
