TITLE (EDIT)
For 2000 Years And Hence...
DESCRIPTION
The poem For 2000 Years and hence, was written on the 1st of January 2000.It describes mankinds eternal journey in the last 2000 years and its most important children. The poem has mention of those important personalities who have contributed heavily in mankinds journey over the last 2000 years. It includes the people who have given new twists to mankinds adventure on planet earth and those who have touched human lives greatly and set examples.
It also includes the worst incident possibly on the planet earth-the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing-an example of an ignorant and cruel act. Only if the countrys men had learnt from it and felt for the affected that there wouldnt have been a mind like Bush, today.
One would also find a mention of what the future course of journey, the mankind may take in the coming century, at least.
As far as the description of the shore in the last sentence of the poem, the poet leaves it to the readers to interpret it in their own ways.

For 2000 Years And Hence...
Angel's Love Korak

The New Millennium has begun,
The New Year has begun,
But does anybody know
When the time has begun?

Its celebration time everywhere,
A holiday for many,
But the universe is doing its work, relentlessly,
Without taking a penny.

2000 years ago, Jesus was nailed,
2000 years, henceforth, the boat of civilization sailed,
On a journey aimed at exploring Universes darkest mystery,
In the process, at every point, it has created history.

The boat had a sailor called Newton,
Who saw an apple fall,
And framed his laws of physics,
Which was praised by all.

Till, another called Albert came,
Whose laws were both general and special,
But both in their respective frames were right,
And both showed the world their might.

There was one called Galileo, who proved that the earth is round,
But the Christian missionaries thought otherwise,
Galileo had spoken a universal truth,
For which he had to pay his life as the price.

In between, Darwin gave the theory of evolution,
Which stormed the globe into a revolution,
His theory of survival of the fittest
Among many theories of evolution was regarded as the best.

Edison invented the bulb that produced light,
And thereby man overpowered the darkness of night,
The world of thought was enriched by the ideas of Vivekananda, Marx and Tagore,
While Tagore won the Nobel, and Marx gave birth to Marxism, Vivekananda was admired by more.

People like Gandhi and Mandela lived here,
Both fought for the neglected and loved them as dear.
In the age of nucleus, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed in a fight
Many innocent lives were gone when America wanted to show their might.

In the meantime India was blessed with an angel,
Known as mother Teresa, she served the hapless for decades,
Truly it will take centuries,
Till her memory fades.

In the time to come humans will be cloned,
And the theory of everything will come to force,
Perhaps then one will know,
Whats the Universes source.

This century is going to be of bio-genetics,
But the unknown can be known only through philosophy and physics,
If physics be the boat,
And philosophy be the oar,
Only together and not alone,
Can they conquer the shore.
