Can you ever tell what you want?
I have choices and I always pick the easy one
Opt for the money and the quick win
The future… that’s miles away
Who knows what’s going to happen
Morals, beliefs… show me the cold hard cash
That’s real, that’s now, that’s something to stick on the fridge door
(seeking approval from me, them, who?)
Can you ever see who you are?
I sometimes think that I’m just a collection of contradictions
Pulling people up on my shortcomings
While I fail behind their backs
Closing myself off to change
Constantly shifting and switching
Nothing set in stone, good to try out new things
(looking for something that doesn’t exist?)
Do you make your destiny?
Do you make yourself?
The wind rustles the leaves of my mind
Blows open another path, another choice
