Thoughtless Crime (Poetry) Another Ed Gein (The Plainfield Psycho) related poem. Well, no one reads my stuff unless it's got death in it. Perhaps I'll get a collection going. [155 words] [Horror]
"Why?" I screamed at him, gripping his throat and slamming his head hard against the wall. He began to squirm so I pushed the blade harder against his neck, not severe enough to cut, but still giving him the fright of his life. "Listen to me, you son of a bitch. I’ve been searching for you for over five years now and I want some answers. So start talking."
I lowered the blade an inch to give him the chance to speak. He spluttered as I did so, finding it a welcome release.
"I…" he began, his fetures pained, his eyes bloodshot. "He… He had money. I was broke… He just… He wouldn’t give it…"
I widened my eyes, glaring uncontrollably at the man, staring into the eyes of the demon. The demon that ended the life of my father over a few green notes that he may or may not have had about his person.
"So you killed him?"
And then it happened. Did my sanity snap? Could I find no other solution? It was just a reaction I guess. An instinctual act of hate that seemed a reasonable move at the time.
Without warning, at the point where the jaw-line connects with the neck, I drove all eight inches of the steel blade into his skull.
He gripped my arms as it sliced through the stiffened muscle, forcibly parting skin and flesh with its tip until it reached his empty mouth. With a force that I mustered from all the emotion I had felt over years following my father’s death, I pushed the knife further up into his head, feeling the resistance given by the top of his mouth. I cut through it with ease.
At first he screamed, tears rolled down his cheeks and his eyes showed unexpected horror that I can only imagine was seen previously in my father’s eyes. When he felt that cold bullet fly through his head.
Before I knew it I had reached the man’s cerebrum, the frontal, larger part of his brain. His eyes darted up into their sockets and his scream trailed off like a whisper in the wind. At first I smiled, and then I saw the blood flow from his lips. An untainted crimson fluid that’s purity just didn’t match that of its owner. His grip on me loosened and his arms fell limp to his side.
And then I grinned. I grinned at my father’s loving memory and the way we used to be together, and I grinned at the death of his demon. The one that ended his life for a mere pittance.
I pushed the knife handle upwards until I could push no further. Stopped by the flesh of his jowl.
Then I dropped the body, cold realisation at what I had done enveloped me. My grinning features soon turned to those of pure terror. Pure terror as I turned tail and ran for my life.

"Slightly reminiscent or my doomed 'When the Blood runs Cold' (Jack sheds a few tears) but I'm not the kind of guy to hold grudges. I know nothing of anatomy but I'll guess the knife thing (now talking like the old advisor) was a load of crap and couldn't be done with force, or some other crap. Probably can for all I know." -- Jack Brown.
"Really good, I liked it lots, very expressive, and I could tell that he was enjoying, it and I saw all the gore. (pretty long knife) but I wanted to know is there a continuation? It seems like it." -- Julissa Gayle Raven, USA.
"Hey, thanks for reviewing some -actually, rather a lot- of my stuff. I did start on a continuation but it became kinda tacky so I left it at that. My latest unfinished story should deliver though, in all its *ahem* razor swallowing glory. heh heh" -- Rowan Davies.
"Emotional and hard hitting, immediately engaging.Maybe a sequel, 'The tourtured 'what have I done?' scenario? " -- J L Watts, Bath/Swindon.
