-------------------------------------------------
T J Rintoull, born 1983, currently residing on the Gold Coast in Australia, grew up in a combination of city housing, winnebago travelling and bush shacks, before entering the worlds of music, art and literature. Told often that he should have attended university to better himself, instead he devotes his time to working dead end jobs in order to pay the bills, and his spare time to creating music and literature. He confesses that although he loves to paint he has no ability with a brush whatsoever.
Currently T J Rintoull resides with his fiance in a small flat, as he continues to attempt a measure of success with his band and his writing.

Bald
T J Rintoull

Green and full of single purpose
Thrusting skyward
Stony surrounds crushing inward
Notwithstanding any cruel intent
Herewith the bony confidante of impending death
Yet still pushing upward, upward
Regardless of boot and shoe
The biting bovine is of no issue
Only an obstacle to be overcome

Would that the surface of the scalp
Could be home to such courageous strength of will
This one-minded green spread of power
Yet it is not thus
Upon this dying landscape
A proclamation slowly shines
Some sad speech of desert beauty
Some inconstant will bleating excuses
For a lack of brown amid the pale horizon

So it remains the constant comparison
One of earth and one of skin
One filling ever with strength
The other failing in futility of its fruition
How then
If we are creatures of nature
Are we supposed to relate
To be as one
When the very hairs on our heads turn against us?

"Simply buy a toupee' but make sure it's a good one." -- Lester.
"Hahaha nice one. The poem was designed to be mildly deeper than that - but why buy a toupee when I can go the whole hog and get an 18th century style wig? Woo hoo!" -- T J Rintoull.
