A Woman Is A Flower-A Man Is A Tree
Susan T Fisher

A woman is a flower; A baby bud at first, vulnerable to the elements, a tiny delicate start. As she grows to maturity, her true beauty emerges.
Her leaves are of many shapes and sizes. Some leaves are soft and pliable, others are stiff and sturdy, still others have very few leaves at all. Some are long and slender, some are so delicate a harsh wind could damage them. They have one thing in common, all leaves are green, various shades, but all green.
The soft petals of many hues, each flower has her own colors, texture, and scent. Beautiful colors that range from purest white, palest pinks, breath-taking blues, sunny yellows, tangy oranges, deepest purples to crimson red. Each one has her own personality and shape, many petals or few, nothing could be more lovely. When in full bloom, like a grown woman in the prime of her life, the flowers beauty is something to behold.

A man is a tree; Starting as a seedling, a small sprout, then a twig. As he grows the sun and rain help to nurture him.
Putting down roots deep into the soil, to maintain stability, ever growing strong limbs to support branches of leaves. He grows upward and outward expanding to supply shade. As he matures he begins to develop leaves of many sizes and shapes. Same as the flower, all trees have a common bond, all leaves are assorted shades of green.
Sometimes his branches are short and gnarled, some are long and slender, some have densely covered leaves, and some are sparse. Trees are all shapes too, tall, short, bushy, or wispy. The branches blow in the wind, bend, but dont break, ever standing against the elements of heat and cold. The tree like a man, always stands strong and tall to protect the woman, the delicate flower below.

"A very interesting observation. But the way you describe a woman and compare her to a beautiful flower leads me to believe that you are a lesbian. There is nothing wrong with that of course but why can't you find any beauty in a man? Has a man scorned you? Was your heart broken by a man and then you turned gay. There seems to be more to this story then you are telling." -- David.
