Silent Sirens Annacat
Would your be life just a whisper
Of what you prefer it to be
How can time define a memory?
Some distant today that never was
Do you close your eyes to see
What really mattered
when you were blind
Rainbows and smiles hidden
Somewhere left to find
Lost lost at least I know I’m lost
Waiting for some angel to tell me
Where it is that I should go
Silent sirens all around me
I can’t hear them but I see them
Saying something that I will never know
I’m different from the rest of you
Not special just a different mood
The mirror makes a mockery of me
I wake up and I check my pulse
Brush my teeth escape this house
Of shattered hopes and dreams
That I can truly never leave
But things can change at least
If strength makes you believe
Lost lost at least I know I’m lost
Waiting for some angel to tell me
Where it is that I should go
Silent sirens all around me
I can’t hear them but I see them
Saying something that I will never know
Each day that nothing happens
Is a time for more reflection
On every affliction
That tortures my mind
And clarifies the crime
Of a life lived without conviction
Like a watch you cannot wind
It will never tell the time
Lost lost when is the time
To just give up
A fine battle fought
Left far behind
Close your mind to what’s happening
Lock the doors to the coming wind
Far too late to run
Way too late to win
If only everyone
Could decide what should have been
Lost lost if we could begin again
These mistakes would be our only friend
