I've watched things up and grow.
From the dirt to the sky.
And suddenly it's swaying to and fro.
And we suddenly wonder why.
Things were broken underneath.
Unseen, we're unprepared.
And now here's the grief.
We can't possibly repair.
And there's never gonna be a way.
No way, no how.
Yet, hopefully they say, hopefully they say,
Things'll change.
You let the chips fall where they may.
You took the happiness we once had.
But hopefully, you say, hopefully, you say.
Our feelings don't change.
I can't say I understand.
You were good once, I'm sure.
But where is he,
That honored man?
You see our tears,
You see our pain.
And yet you still go.
Things won't be the same.
And there's never gonna be a way.
No way, no how.
Yet, hopefully they say, hopefully they say,
Things'll change.
You let the chips fall where they may.
You took the happiness we once had.
But hopefully, you say, hopefully, you say.
Our feelings don't change.
Yeah, I'm sad.
My heart is torn, that I can say.
But the fear of your leave.
Is lost to your ignorant ways.
They all leave in the end.
The people that I most loved.
But I've still got the friends.
And the support of the rough.
And there's never gonna be a way.
No way, no how.
Yet, hopefully they say, hopefully they say,
Things'll change.
You let the chips fall where they may.
You took the happiness we once had.
But hopefully, you say, hopefully, you say.
Our feelings don't change....
