Snowing In April Pearl S
Its snowing in April
I thought it was all through by now
I thought things were brand new by now
I thought I was a person changed
Tell me, tell me, why is my life the same?
Its snowing in April
I told myself a million lies
I said it would be different this time
Break out the shorts and summer hats
Well swim tomorrow
Play on the swings day after that
April showers bring May flower
What April snow brings no one knows
All I know is I watched from my window
As the green grass withered and the tree buds froze.
And woe to the nave little blue jays
Who thought it might be safe to return today
All I can say is its such a waste
And I guess nothing will grow here
This May.
Its snowing in April
I just got to thinking that I would survive
I just got to feeling complacent inside
The smile is still frozen on my face
In less than a minute youve put me back in my place
Youve put me back in my chains
April showers bring May flower
What April snow brings no one knows
All I know is I watched from my window
As the green grass withered and the tree buds froze.
And woe to the nave little blue jays
Who thought it might be safe to return today
All I can say is its such a waste
And I guess nothing will grow here
This May.
When did laughter warrant punishment
When did hope become a sin
Is it too much to let me keep my dreams?
I was happy in my self-delusion
But you think truths the only solution
Killing me with reality
Freezing my heart, the only part of me that dreams
The only part of me thats real,
With your cold and empty words
April showers bring May flowers
What April snow brings no one knows
All I know is I watched terrified from the inside
While all my hopes and day-dreams froze
And woe to a nave little girl
Who grew content in this cruel ugly world
All I can say is its not ok
And nothing will grow in me
Again
