Hiding behind my secrets
Living for the past
Take it all in, believe me
Nothing ever lasts
Waiting on you
Is weight on my back
Pulling straws in foreign wars
Just to get you back
I tried to see myself
With your eyes
Like some motionless painting
Of troubled skies
I could scream for justice
Recite it all again
But my lungs are exhausted
From these trite confessions
