Turnin A New Leaf C Simnitt
I've said what I wanted to say,
a thousand different ways
Thought my words would have a chance,
and save the day
For three weeks, now I've had this song,
inside of me
And, up till now, I just didn't know, what I wanted to say.
I just can't, find the words, for a masterpiece
I'm all spent out, all used up, and I've gone too deep
Tired of searchin, for a life, that has eluded me
Guess it's time, to turn over a brand new, leaf
Turnin a new leaf, it's not like the other cheek
Instead of sayin sorry, it's time to move on without me
We'll dry these tears from our eyes, put on our old disguise
Try to get on with life, it's time to say good-bye
We're tied by kids, to each other, for life
Hard to explain, at least to them, that our choices were right
Behind those smiles, lies a hope that needs some help
I only pray, they don't go a day, blaming themselves
I saw the sun, for the first time, in years today
Heard the birds, and the morning breeze, in a different way
A thought of you, hasn't crossed my mind, for an hour or two
And if one does, I'll just have to, turn to something new
Turnin a new leaf, it's not like the other cheek
Instead of sayin sorry, it's time to move on without me
We'll dry these tears from our eyes, put on our old disguise
Try to get on with life, it's time to say good-bye
And the only fears I've known
Was not wanting to let go
Tried to hold out so long
My lifes become a song
Turnin a new leaf, it's not like the other cheek
Instead of saying sorry, it's time to move on without me
We'll dry these tears from our eyes, put on our old disguise
Try to get on with life, it's time to say good-bye
And when you turn a new leaf, it's hard to keep a dry cheek
Just hold your head up high
And let your heart dry your eyes
